£75 'No Commitments' Package from Sky Plus free Ipod/Payg Mobile/Phones/Hi-fi

I rang up yesterday using the 0870 number and spoke to a very helpful assistant.
She explained that the £75 already paid covered the subscription for 2 packages (for 6 months) and that for an extra £3 per month you can have an extra 2 packages. Bargain.
Could anyone who has had this package installed by sky let me know how they terminate the aerial lead? Will they put it into a wall socket if it’s already there or do they just leave a loose bit of wire sticking through the wall?
Would I need to buy an F connector faceplate myself or do they supply one?0 -
This has happened to us too, been cut off and had the letters hubby rang them up and they said he still needed to give bank details for it to be activated - he gave them his credit card no!why?!Will be having to check the statements i think! The thing is it took eight hours before we received the channels again but that was only friday and they have just been cut off again - hubby tried the alternative no to the 0870 no but it puts you through and then cuts you off!So looks like we will be getting an expensive phone bill and probably money taken from our credit card as well.
Oh dear bad bad move, direct debit is far far safer as you can use the direct debit guarantee to claim money back instantly if they take some out by mistake.0 -
Bungeejump, both of ours have been cable straight through the wall, secured at the wall and sufficient length to reach tv twice over. I doubt the installers would do more, unless of course you could bribe them in some way10

It's out of stock at Dixons, not listed in Currys (also phoned my local Currys, but they didn't have one). Called local ASDA, not there.
Is there anywhere that has it in stock?:(
Or am I just too late...0 -

The Sky installers are not allowed in lofts, it will be an external cable run and through your wall and into the Sky box0 -
“Pay Once Watch Forever - No Contract - No Monthly Fee”
What a shambles SKY is! The whole process of dealing with the offer has shown the greatest lack of customer care, confusion and misinformation I have ever had the misfortune to experience.
My system was installed efficiently, but as with other customer for this offer, I then received what appears to be the usual “Oops! Forgotten Something” letters. One for not providing direct debit details the second for not signing the contract.
As I did not want pay per view access the direct debit info was not needed and the pack clearly says “No Contract = No Monthly Fees”. I agree that there is reference to an Interactive Discount Contract (IDC) in the paperwork inside the box once you have broken the seal, which is I consider devious and the sort of sharp practice I would have expected from a backstreet shark.
I have queried this with SKY and spoken to a manager almost three weeks ago who promised to get back to me, but never did.
After installation, to my surprise I received a UK Signatureless contract book. This included the IDC which stated: You agree to have the Digital Satellite System installed.... as soon as possible after signing the contract. Now call me slow, but how do you sign a Signatureless contract.
My 6 months free packages was subsequently disconnected, but after complaining reinstated.
In the meantime I have had two more letters about not giving direct debit details the latest say I may be charged £4 per month for payment by invoice (as they do not have direct debit details).
I have also received 4 phone calls on behalf of SKY from the Listening Company who act as SKY agent (3 of these were silent call in 48 hours which I understand breaches OFCOM rules).
All in all not a good company to do business with.:mad:0 -
Folks the Direct Debit will be needed because you can order any films from the box office or the naughty channels as you will have to pay for those.
£79 offer was back in stock on Dixons website (temporarily!) today, so have placed an order.
Does Deanos' post mean that with this offer you get access to Sky Box Office/PPV channels ? Can that be disabled, as the last thing I want is e.g. family members/friends lumbering me with a bill for PPV stuff, especially as I don't intend to provide a DD mandate ?0 -
I've just ordered it from Dixons;) Fingers crossed...0
