    Hello everyone,

Its taken me over a week to get on here! Can you please sign me up for £300 again please, I just managed it last month so fingers crossed I succeed again. My month runs from 28th July to 28th August.

    I have done a few shops already;£53.60 in a!di and £24.75 at Te$co on the 29th, also £32.47 at Te$co today.
Hopefully I'll have quite a few nsd this month as I have had to buy a new food processor as the motor on my last one died. :mad:Although it was my dad's before I owned it and he hasn't been with us now for 19 years! I use it for everything; slicing, grating, mixing, blending, kneading etc. As I'm unable to do these things myself, it was an essential purchase!

Off to menu plan for the week with foods I have and vegs I know are coming Thursday in my veg box. It takes sooo much longer when dd and ds are at home. :p

Oops. Ffoods had an offer on tuna. I'm on my last four-pack from stocking up last year, so I bought four 4-packs! £2.75 each, for princes. Anyway, up to £20.24. That represents nearly seven days' worth of shopping. My plan is to shop again on the 7th, as the children are with me for a full week from the 8th. I've already started the list; it's fairly basic with bread, milk, fruit and veg, so nothing too costly. I've got more than enough food for me for this week, and freezer and pantry are full :)

Taking my best friend out for dinner tonight to celebrate her 30th birthday. It was last month, but I was ill, so taking her out tonight! Coming from pocket money. Hope it won't cost too much!!!

Unexpected spend today of 15.37 at Mr T. I wanted ice cream (BOGOF) and Hubbs 'needed' soda. If he could only kick this habit our shopping trips would be considerably cheaper.. he has cut down, but can't get rid :/

Spoke to the hubby and he was all up for the idea of saving money. I followed some tips from what I have read on this thread by seeing what is needed for the week ahead, going to mysupermarket to compare prices. So we looked as to what was missing from the kitchen cupboards.

He gave me a list, did the comparison and found it a brilliant tool to use and it had reduced the shop by at least £30! :) However I made the mistake of taking him with me. For quickness, he decided on the way round that he would by something to put in the oven for our tea. (it was very nice though) it didn't stop there either as I was working on the Sunday, he got some little 'treats' I was darting down the aisles as he pushed the trolley up and down. All in all everything that was planned went out of the window, I was hoping to have not spent so much in the first few weeks :o (think he will be stopping at home next time)

Anyway I am not going to let this stop me, this is my first month, I am still going to try to keep within my limit or try to beat or meet my budget for this month. Any hints and tips are appreciated.:) Thanks x - signature updated

Planned NSD today. It's so much easier to have an NSD when you don't drive and it's raining ^_^

I talked myself into it as I was going out to buy a few items but I decided I can make bread, we can have fish fingers and chips for lunch - not healthy but my fridge is pretty empty so nothing to make soup with, we've had pasta 2 days in a row. I have dinner in - pork chops and cauliflower/broccoli cheese and we have milk and fruit. Tomorrow I will need to go but need to write a shopping list.

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Haven't yet spent anything out of £350 for August, but will need to get milk soon.

I am going to have a go at making the tuna melt piadina that Jamie Oliver made on money saving meals the other night for lunch, and tonight I am using leftover chicken from Sunday to make curry.

I find that doing an online shop is better for me than doing a "real" shop, as I don't impulse buy, so I am just going to go on mysupermarket and do an order for the weekend.
