  • Hi, I'm joining in again for August at £230.

I've already spent £50 but this was mostly cleaning stuff and toiletries - I had run out of almost everything! Roast chicken for tea today and the leftovers will do two more meals.

Feeling optimistic, but it is only the 3rd of August!

I'm aiming to spend £65 a week (or less). I'm shocked that we have been spending up to and around £100  in previous months but figure that I should be able to survive adequately on £65 (or even less)

    Hi,

I am going to join in this month. Things have gone a bit wayward moneywise in the last few months and we now have to tighten our belts big time. We are a family of 2 adults, 3 kids aged 5 - 11. I have done a menu plan and I did a very careful shop yesterday and spent £48 for the week. my budget for the month is £250 or below if we can do it and to not eat out at all.

Looking forward to hearing how you all do.

Glad your mum's back at home and all okay :)

Had full roast chicken dinner tonight (one of the chicken crowns from Morry yesterday so only worked out at £1.25) as the day was dull and dreary.

Had another NSD and sorted out the freezers. All batch cooked stuff from last week properly filed away and rolls, bread etc from yesterday's shopping packed and frozen :T

Hope you all have a marvellous Monday

Can't remember if I posted target yet, too tired to go and look, so please put me down for £320 this month as it's a 4 week month for me. Thanks :)

I am going to include all treats/coffees/lunches out I buy this time as I have no disposable income unless I have money left over, I have decided any grocery money left each week can go towards my stamps. Will have some big spends this month need to get a few items for children including shoes and clothes (cheap ones) for DS's start at playgroup, plus we have to pay for the first term and the uniform! I'm also going to record NSDs to give something to aim for.

Well I'm going to give baba night feed and hit the sack, night all.

Well I am proud to say that’s our first weekly shop down and we managed to spend £26.49 of which £11.83 was on unnecessary items (an expensive lunch and cooking mag). So hoping that next week I will be able to curb my spending by a) not going shopping while hungry and b) not buying a magazine lol! I also bought a £1 savings stamp which brings that total to £11 (saving them for when we move into our house next year, so I can buy all the basic's without worrying!)

    Total to date - £26.49/£200!

Spent 40.57 in Morries using 2x£5 vouchers. I am waiting on cashback on a couple of things, which should bring our total down to £35.59. I'm very happy with this, as we've managed to restock on meat. We will need more veg towards the end of the week - I'm walking to the shop for exercise on the days we need one or two things and buying only what we need.
