  • We had a chippy tea yesterday and then I did a weekly shop at @ldi tonight, so just under £50 for both now added to my total.

Still looking good so far, I will need to do another shop before the end of the month and may need to do cleaning/toiletries shop at H&b too. I just need to keep my eye on the ball for the next week, I don't want to fall at the last hurdle after such a good few weeks.

You're welcome. But I posted this last night and had such a busy day today that I completely forgot to pick up a paper. I wanted a lidl voucher.

Edited to say I have just seen there's vouchers for lidl in the star and express again today : Friday so must get one on the way to work.

Hi I've just popped on to declare my total. £517.31 is a bit over but I'm delighted seeing as I spent nearly £900 last month! I am not going to do the August challenge as it is the school holidays and we will be spending more than usual I'm sure plus it's a 5 week month. I've enjoyed reading about everyone's successes and will be back to join in for September.

    Good morning folks!
Just popping in to update my totals. Did a big shop today and stocked up my freezer and got loads of F&V for the coming week.
I am a bit over for the month ( £17.23) but I am quite happy with that as it's my first month back!

Just as an aside - I went to L!dl/Ald!/FF today and spent a total of £57.80.
As I'm a bit of an anorak, I priced the same shop at A$da on My supermarket and the total for the same stuff was £76.16!!! A difference of over £18!!! That is unbelievable!!
    Apart from b & m I shouldn't need much else for July.

Do you have a local freecycle group - sometimes worth a look on there ?

Sort of NSD...used my Sainsbugs gift card from Valued Opinions. Bought salad and vegs stuff and Flora buttery on offer £1 and Stork for baking. treated myself to a tub of deli coleslaw and got 4 tins chopped tomatoes for £1...the offer of KTC brand (in the "ethnic" isle). They had plum and chopped tomatoes and various beans and you can mix and match 4 for £1....

Shopping done today and £34.30 spent. Slightly more than usual but needed T. Rolls, soap powder & mouth wash that don't buy every week.
Hopefully I will just need bacon, bread, newspaper and potatoes tomorrow.
This morning when I went to use the milk it had gone sour. :o It was a 6 pint bottle but only had about a pint left in it so today have brought 3 UHT litre cartons. Will do this while the weather is so hot to safe waste.
I was going to buy a mini oven today for £25 but DH said we didn't need it - I disagree cause cant see the point in putting the large oven on just when we are having say a pizza and haven't had time to prepare anything else to go in the oven to fill it up.
I think a mini oven would be great so will have to change his mind. :rotfl:
