Signature updated with spends from the last week, which include over £31 from Thursday when I took a friend and my OH out for lunch to say thanks for running me around / doing heaps for me after I broke my wrist. Wasn't sure whether to account for that from my grocery or everything else budget, but I'm well under grocery budget for the year to date (and even this month at the moment), so took it from here.Cheryl0

My internet went down in the storms, so have been offline.
Had a bit of a cake disaster that hit my GC pocket. I bought a whole load of ingredients on Friday to make my mum a birthday cake and also needed to buy a cake tin too (I seem to leave these behind whenever I take a cake anywhere).
The mix was fine, but cracked in the oven and then just crumbled when I tried to lift it onto a cooling tray. So ended up back in the supermarket buying a ready-made cake to take on Saturday.
Anyway after that fiasco I have £65.05/£200 left and 2 weekly shops till month end and a picnic this coming weekend to buy stuff for :eek:We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
I have been better this month but have gone over budget already - so far I have spent £390. I find that I am much better if I do an online shop, so in August Inam going to try and do three online shops at Asda and try and spend £80 on each one, with the rest of my money do top up shops.
I have quite a lot of good left so shouldn't need to get any extra stuff in until the start of next week, when I start a new month.
Well done to everyone who has stayed in budget! I think without this thread I would spend much much more.Jane

Just a week to go for me and looking like I will stay just under last years July, but really pleased as I have included the £32.00 I paid for the new microwave.
Looking back to last August I spent very little but this was because I was away for two weeks, so I need to plan carefully if I am to stay the same this August I think best idea is to plan a big use up month.Slimming World at target0 -
Just spotted this on the Food and groceries thread and thought it might help to copy it here.

Hi everyone,
I'm declaring for July at £461.97 vs a budget of £450. Not too bad, and only managed to get to Aldi once so the majority came from Tesco. Will shop tomorrow with DS2 as he finished for the summer today. DS1 and DD still have one more day.......:D
August's thread is up if anyone wants to post their budget.
Big and red please so I can spot it.

Fire roaring in the lounge and outside is thick fog, promises to be one of the coldest days of winter today with an expected top temp of 9 oC. I think I will recover the hot water bottle from the van, its just that sort of day.
First egg this morning from my ex battery hens, they have adapted really well to a harsh climate and none of the comforts of a warm environment. Its usually during the transition that any health problems rear their heads as the change can be quite traumatic for them.
Planning on a NSD as they have been few and far between lately.
Cheers
kiwiMad as it sounds I'm looking forward to the colder days and darker nights
Glad your chickens are doing well
Oh and NSD for me ^_^Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

I think I need to join this again. I used to take part last year with a budget of around £100 per month for 2 people, then I met my current boyfriend and our combined love of slightly interesting food has seen the food shop spend reaching up to £80 per week  I'm currently not working and come October I'll be doing a fair commute everyday for my placement year, so any money I can save over summer will be a huge help. Going to see if I can convince my boyfriend to start budgeting with me a bit for August
and hopefully I'll be back with a goal!
