I'm currently well under my £1pppd budget, having spent just under £40 so far this month. Was pleased with myself this week, as no trips to c00p for lunch, always took one in. Yay me!!
Going shopping tomorrow, and looking forward to the new super six. Going to get cauliflower and nectarines definitely. While I don't have the children this weekend, I'll be having uu meals, or kitchen surprise as I like to call them! Today was a burger in a roll with a bag of crisps as I was just too tired after work... Tomorrow will be better, I'll decide in the morning what in having. Maybe carbonara?
Night all, keep those purses shut!

Hi everyone! Just caught up on the thread from the past couple of days, I've managed another couple of NSD's this week, would have been more if I hadn't bought some chickens from the market on wednesday  (real ones not ones for the freezer :rotfl:) so not included in the grocery budget!:D
I must have fallen into some really bad habits the past couple of years, you don't realise how much money you can waste popping into local SM's for "bits and pieces" just to top up... I've noticed a big improvement in my bank balance already this month by simply planning my shopping/meals and keeping on top of the cupboards/freezer/stores and trying not to spend! For those of you new to this challenge don't feel bad if you overspend on your budgets, you learn every month how to improve and what works for you but once you find the key it all becomes alot easier!
I'm planning on another top up shop this weekend as there are some interesting offers in lid! on there Spanish week but the pull of aldi (closest one to me is 7 miles away...) is tempting and then again I need some bits from @sda..... Aaah  what to do??? :mad:0 -
You're right, bex. I'm going shopping today for my weekly shop, and it will only be my fourth spend day, meaning 15 nsds so far this month. There was a time for me when it would've been the other way round!! I'm on about £40/£93 spent so far this month, so on track for £1pppd! Yes the planning and list writing takes time, but once it becomes habit, and you get into your routine, it's not too big a deal. I like to start my shopping list for the following week the day after I've been shopping, so I can add what I need as I realise it's running out. Then it's just a quick squiz through the cupboards and off I go! I shop almost exclusively in aldeeee now, and that has helped hugely too.
Right, I'm off to shop now. Don't know what's for dinner yet, depends if I see anything that catches my eye out. Otherwise, I'm early enough to take something out of the freezer!
Have a great Saturday everyone!

Hi everyone,
Budgets list updated to here
Welcome to:
the lady 81 and truebluemummy
We have about £40 to last the week. Will pop to Tesco later for the bits we need.
DH in Amsterdam this weekend, DD has gone indoor skydiving with the Guides today and DS1 is out with friends, so just DS2 to drag around with me!
Meal plan:
Tonight: chicken fajitas (need sour cream and onions)
Sunday: roast chicken and salad (need salad)
Monday: lemon and pepper baked salmon, new pots, salad (need all)
Tuesday: Gammon, cauli cheese, green beans (need all)
Not sure what we will have Wednesday and Thursday - it depends a lot on the weather! Meant to be warm still until the middle of the week, plus I'm working (gardening) so the thought of cooking anything hot is just unbearable. Last night I did jacket pots and chilli con carne - nearly died!
Have a good weekend all

Just added a fiver spend last week on a couple of bits I needed. Popped into tesco to get cold meats, salad and fresh bread for dinner. Annoyed that husband wouldn't let me go to aldi, it would have been much cheaper but the fresh bread was nice!
I had originally got something out of the freezer but hubby said he didn't fancy it so popes it back it before it defrosted too much!
Going to pop to ffoods tomorrow to get fresh veg and fruit for the week. Will also pick up ham, marg and milk. Hoping not to spend too much!Grocery challenge-
