School holidays are in full swing here, sunny but cold today, so the fire is on, ipads in use and I am working on a quilt I want finished for the weekend.
Grocery budget is not going to plan, my dgkids do not do frugal at all. Just fed 1/2 bowl of expensive cereal and milk to a grateful cat who is now looking for a quiet place to hide and sleep it off.
Planning a trip to our nearest town with a heated swimming pool as the one in our village is closed for the winter. Will also do the grocery shopping while I'm there as I will have a choice of two supermarkets
cheers

NSD again today, nothing exciting to report really... apart from that I am glad I had a massive cook off yesterday because after a really hectic day, it was nice to have the bolognese to hand, ready to reheatDebt Free Journey started 21.05.20170

Evening all,
I totted up my spends from this weekend's receipt, and the grocery element was £15.24. Not bad for a week's worth of food for three!! Ok, so I have a full freezer and full cupboards, but still!! As I allow myself £3pd and today is the 7th, I'm well on track for a good month. Just need to keep on the frugality wagon at the end of the month, which is my downfall!
I have a little local co0p literally opposite my work, and it's really tempting to pop in for lunch which ends up being an extortionate amount of money. Anyway, my little challenge this month is to not get my lunch there. Managed it today, spent less than two mins making some sarnies, saved around £2!
Hope you're all having a good week so far.

Incidentally, if, like me, your OH insists on wholegrain rice (don't understand how processed rice can be so much cheaper than unprocessed), tesc0 have got the tilda wholegrain basmati 1kg for £3. Not bad since the 500g bag is £2.59.
Thanks for this. Didn't see it in time for yesterday's shop, but will add it on for next week, providing it's still on offer.
£1.60p to add to sig. NSD Sunday & Monday and there is a possibility today will be the same.
Last night we had all day breakfast and it made a nice change. All grilled apart from mushrooms & egg and then these were done in frying pan without any fat. (cant you tell I have had a new frying pan as everything was sticking to the old one) Oh and toast instead of fried bread :A
Will need eggs now but can wait until shopping day.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Went to see my DD this morning and popped into Aldi to do most of my shop, spent £8.31 but they didn't have a couple of things I needed so parked up at Sainsbugs and walked to the High Street to the 99p shop for toothpaste (needed some sensitive and knew they had Colg*te in there) and didn't buy anything else.
Walked back to Sainsbugs and bought the last couple of things on my list - and nothing else!. Spent a total of £12.49 today.
Total so far is £117.19/£250. My month finishes in a couple of weeks and I generally allow about £50 a week in total (2 shops a week) so should be OK.
