Gosh, this month is bad....only half-way and I'm nearly hitting the budget! Next day nearing the shops is Thursday coming, trying for cheap cat food at B & Ms and nice meat at Morrisons....otherwise I'll try to avoid shops from today! I suppose teens' upcoming birthday planning isn't helping - but still, I'm shocked at my spending :(

I am declaring for my 4 week grocery challenge at £63.31
Had a cook up after coming home from Church.
Made a TITH - we had some for dinner with roast potatoes/parsnip + carrots/onion + gravy.

I had some milk that needed to be used up after making the Yorkshire batter. I made JJ's Herby Cheese Bread + GCJ's Soda Bread + a Sour Milk Spice Cake. The cake was a new recipe to me - couldn't find a 9 inch tin so used a Bundt tin. The Bundt tin was a throw out by a neighbour - she had bought it and never used it - so I said - yes please. My first time of using this sort of tin - I broke the cake getting it out of the tin!
I will let you know how the cake is to eat.
I am still ploughing through the washing up.

NSD for me and i've updated my Lidl spends. Since my shifts have changed to hours when the shops are closed I am doing much better. I used to finish in the afternoon and then kill time before school run/getting bus home.

Still ended up putting a few extras in like pulled pork (never tried this before but will give it a go. Is it best served in baps with wedges and salad???)

Pulled pork is delicious. Bought one from asda last month and served in burger bun with chips and salad, so would recommend your plan of salad and wedges. I actually managed to get 3 meals for 2 adults and 1 child out of it, socworked out great value too.

  • Had to get milk and bread at the start of the weekend, so I've added to my signature. I haven't been shopping yet, I normally go on a Sunday morning but didn't get a chance due to father's day. I will have to go tomorrow as my cupboards, fridge and freezer are bare! I could do with another low spend week to take me up to payday, but we've got to eat, so I'm not sure if my modest budget will get everything I actually need. I will try though.
