    Hi everyone,

Just stopping by to declare £11.91 spend from me this weekend. £2.24 of that was on Ben & Jerrys :o (couldn't resist after a particularly crappy week at work, lol).

Not a great deal of budget left, but only 9 days until payday and will only need a few small bits this weekend.:)

    Finally a Homeowner 04.10.13 :j

  • Weekly shopping done after work today. Just under £48. Happy with this for my June budget, but really wanted to have a much lower spend as it's a week off payday and I'm really struggling to keep my head above water this month. Have planned to do a double batch of chilli, this will make 4 meals for us for only a few pence extra. Also picked up 8 burgers and will freeze 4 for another day. I definitely saw a difference in my grocery spending when I was doing more of this through March and April, so I need to keep it up.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just a quick update, had my as@a delivery this morning, a few subs worked in my favour. Total came in at £51.67.
Last weeks budget fell apart a tad though after a trip to Te@co to pick up one or two bits turned into more like 5 or 6 bits :( don't remember what the damage was, I shall update sig when I dig out the receipt.
I've tried to meal plan a bit more this week so back on track. Just made a huge batch of bolognese which will do a fair few meals :)

Trying not to beat myself up over going over budget as previous to doing the GC I was way overspending so even going over by £5 is less than I was going over!
  • I am going to bow out of the June grocery gracefully as I have had a disastrous month shopping wise. We have had a guest for a week from my daughters school and i have been ridiculously busy which has meant I haven't shopped very wisely or kept a track of my receipts properly. Hence I dont teally know where I am up to but i'm sure its over where i should be. I think that organisation is the key to success with the GC.

However I am already looking in the freezer and cupboards at what I can use up in July and will be back with a vengance -my family (who don't realise how good they have it when it comes to food) had better be ready cos I am determined to run down my stocks and tighten the belt if it kills me!

In the mean time I will continue to follow as I find you all mega-inspiring and will look forward to jumping back on the wagon in a couple of weeks time.

    Poolie.

Would it not be cheaper to buy a normal bottle of wine instead of those tiny ones. Al*i and L*dl both do them for under £4. It will keep well-stoppered in the fridge for at least a week (good enough for cooking anyhow) or you can freeze in ice-trays or small bags for future use :money:

See you soon Poolie - don't get lost now :)
