Hello everyone
A nsd again for me so this week still stands at
£3.01/£20.00
Not feeling too great today but I think I'm just over tired from long hours the last four days at work, so early night tonight and then tomorrow and Wednesday I look after Dgd 2 but only am as my dd works half days these two days, but she goes to nursery the other 3 days when she works full days, so it's Nanny time then. Sorry for waffling on.
Anyway had a shower and hair wash and just about to have beans on toast before I turn in.

Popping on quickly to update. £6.19 spent today, did buy a YS hot cross bun loaf for the freezer for a treat, I'll just grab slices from the freezer and toast them from frozen. 2 days left to go and I have to shop again tomorrow but not hugely over budget. As it is my first month back I'm not too worried, though it would have been nice to come in on targetStay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

Did the rounds of the shops today, with grocery spends in B'n'M, £-Stretch, HB, C0stco and A1di. Food purchases take me to £97.75 spent, which is 52.12% of my budget in 30% of the month.
Also bought the Svn in Mr A (while picking up some underwear I'd ordered), and am trying to decide whether to charge that to groceries or household (which is a different budget). I only ever buy a paper if I'm collecting tokens for something, and normally it's CDs or DVDs which clearly isn't grocery related. But this time it's for freebies from Icel@nd, so I'm leaning towards costing them to my grocery budget (need 4 papers at a total cost of £1.60 - should be 5, but got given one by OH's sister on Saturday - which gets me £9.50 worth of groceries)Cheryl0 -
Had a really rubbish day both spending and eating wise.
DD2 had GCSE maths this morning and was stressing out afterwards so I let her have something from Greggs for lunch. I resisted but then went into Home and Bargain supposedly for bobbles but ended up spending £15 on dry shampoo, hot chocolate powder, Surf capsules, mini cheddars (can't resist them), Doritos(the new buffalo chicken wing ones which were vile), cheese sauce packets, tea bags and a couple of other things.
Then when I got in I couldn't be bothered to make anything for tea as I was so tired - I think I am still catching up on the nights I spent awake with toothache last week. In the end I just had toast and then I made a sort of bread and butter pudding with some stale ys fruit buns, which was actually very nice. So a very low protein high carb day!
DD1 arrived home from University for the summer tonight so that means a huge increase in food bills as she has hollow legs!
I have three quarters of a whole chicken in the fridge so will have to use that up tomorrow - might make enchiladas as I got some of the kits when they were on offer the other week. I love them!!
I saw Rachel Allen on TV before making this creamy lentil casserole thing and it looked delicious, so I might have a go at that later in the week - it was basically just green or puy lentils, onion, rosemary, tomatoes and cream but it looked lovely!
Spending up to £220 of my £300 so I will have to be VERY careful from now on.Jane

went into the "big town" with DD1 yesterday to pick up a prom dress for a larger fortune....suppose you only turn 18 once.
We did not spend too much else, soup and toastie (which was fabulous value for money - that's really so different from the province where you get a measly amount of food!), had a Wowcher for afternoon tea and a only bought few small things in the Charity shops - did I mention that we had to get 2 umbrellas in the poundshop as the floodgates oepened - happens to us every time we go somewhere, I should have know!!!
Groceries only a punnet of flat peaches for £ 1,28, which is fab as we can't even get them at home.
A quite successful low spend day (except for the prom dress...)First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -
Small spend in Mr S yesterday on value sultanas and 2 pairs of reduced to half price tights as I needed a pair for an interview in the afternoon.
DH is away again for 2 nights this week and I have far too much food in and my meal plan has gone to pot. I have managed to squeeze most of the meat into the freezer as well as 6 portions of bolognaise but need to make sure I eat a lot of the fresh stuff or turn it into something in the next couple of days.
I only have about £50 to last until payday on the 30th but DH said yesterday let's try and not spend any more money on food this month so I am aiming to not shop at all this weekend, buy milk, fruit and bread for next week and the same with maybe a couple of lunch things after that.
I bought myself a pop corn maker out of my personal spends last night and already had the corn in so this will be our snacks and I am planning to make some GF choc chip cookies to use up easter eggs, a victoria sponge and apple an ginger crumble for the weekend and have everything in for those too.
Pasta for me tonight with either lentil ragu or a cheapo carbonarra sauce I make (basically, cooking bacon, basics parmesan and garlic salt).Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Bit of a stressful day today, DS is having meltdowns left, right and centre and for some reason accident prone today. Not sure why maybe tired but we cut back his naps as he wasn't sleeping at night time. DD waking up 3 or 4 times in the early morning, I only need to resettle her but it results in broken sleep for me. Ended up buying junk food (cheap pizza) for lunch, not the best idea but wanted something quick and easy and we are having a healthy tea, would have done eggs for lunch but eggs are part of the meal tonight - doing JO's hungover noodles using up cabbage and green beans, with some broccoli.
Spent £2.39 in Asda, hopefully the last spend on my May budget, tomorrow is the last day then onto June Budget from Thurs.Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

Not doing very well at all this month. I've now spent £159.48/£250 so far. I keep thinking I don't need much each time I go out shopping but everything seems to be dearer every time I go into a shop!
Spent £4 on fruit & veg stall in market, including enough ginger to probably last me a year, LOL! I always bulk buy it and then freeze and was down to my last piece so when I saw it I bought it - he doesn't sell it on a regular basis. Also topped up on lemons 5 for £1 - three of them need ripening a bit so they are in the fruit bowl until they ripen. I'll cut one up into slices and freeze to put in drinks; DGD loves frozen lemon slices when she has lemonade or even in a glass of water (I don't often buy fizzy drinks so she only has lemonade if I've bought it for reason).
Popped into Ald!s for some tinned chopped tomatoes and a jar of beetroot. Also Mr Ts for a few bits that Ald! didn't have.
I sometimes think it wouldn't be any dearer just buying everything in Mr Ts and not shopping around!

Was hoping for a NSD today but sucuumbed to going to McDonalds for one of their frappe drinks (didn't have any cream on it though!) - so that was £2.30.
DD's are having friends for tea so am determined not to be plagued into getting Dominos 2 for Tuesday or whatever it is today!! So I used the last of the weekend chicken and chopped it up in half a jar of Asda smokey bbq sauce, and then did 2 pork loin steaks which were due up today in the other half, plus I did the brocolli we were meant to have yesterday in a cheese and tomato sauce, and kids can have bbq wraps (have put out shredded lettuce, grated cheese, sour cream etc) and I will have the brocolli dish. That ASda smokey bbq sauce is lovely (I know that its processed food but the rest of the meal isn't and it is only £1 for a large jar and the ingredients don't read like a science experiment!)
I made an apple crumble for dessert and there is some ice cream lurking in the freezer so that will be good for afters.
Xspender - Easter Eggs - wow! you're restrained - ours all went by the end of Easter week:o
Wish we had a market nearby to go for fresh stuff but we don't.Jane
