  • NSD today for the first time in ages.

Need to get milk and eggs tomorrow. The Sirloin steak is half price at the moment at £10 a kilo, so I might get some for the freezer.

Made turkey meatballs and spaghetti for dinner and we gad leftovers for lunch.

Groceries only a punnet of flat peaches for £ 1,28, which is fab as we can't even get them at home.

I sometimes think it wouldn't be any dearer just buying everything in Mr Ts and not shopping around!

A few months ago I did an actual price check on a reasonable size weekly shop, pricing it up at various places, and IMO I don't think we could afford to eat as well as we do if I just shopped at Mr T. Also, after an unfortunate incident, I no longer buy chicken there and only the occasional tray of ox-tail from the fresh counter - so without shopping elsewhere we would have to practically go veggie.

Oooh - where is sirloin half-price at the mo please

I had a lovely lunch today of tuna salad and jacket potato, followed by fresh pineapple and yoghurt. Was at work this evening so took cheese sandwiches and tomato pieces, followed by a pear and some fresh apricots. I love this time of year coming around now with all the fruits starting to come into their seasons.

Hope you all have a thrifty Thursday

It means yellow stickered, items that are reduced to clear in the supermarket normally have a yellow sticker put on them.

    Mr T. And rump's down to £8.50/kg.

Mr M have a special offer, but I think it's rump (£10+ instead of £15+)

Thanks! I've puzzled over this for weeks :D - Lidl's stickers are orange and Aldi's are red ;), no wonder I didn't get it! :o

Just been shopping and split it between Mr Ts, Morries & butcher; spent a total of £40.48 so now standing at nearly £200/£250 (£199.96 to be exact!). That leaves me with £50 for next week's top up and main shop so hopefully can just make it this month.

My month goes from DH's payday which is 24th so new month will start the following Tuesday.

I really need to do a freezer and cupboard inventory and try to use up some of the food I've already got before buying more.

Small spend to report of £2.33 in Mr S on 4 pints skimmed milk, 5 bananas and a bottle of water. Walked there and back (4 miles) and forgot to take a drink silly me, still I will refill the bottle and use for my exercise classes for the next couple of days.

I am planning not to shop again until next weekend, we will just need to make do with what we have in and there is a lot so we wont be starving anytime soon :)
