Morning all, still in May but the thread seems to have gone lol. NSD today ^_^
Yesterday I decided to get as much as I could carry home from my shopping list for the next fews days of meals - I have my shopping list split into days as I don't drive and have barely any room in the pushchair now it's doubled up. I'm really glad I did as I now don't have to go out today which is great as it's pouring and I hate getting wet!
I bought a YS living salad which I don't need until next week but figured I can just keep it watered until we need it. I also bought some YS strawberries - a huge punnet, which I then turned into Jam, I love spontaneous Jam making! Got some apples and crumble mix out of the freezer to make a crumble for tonight, might use the tin of custard up in the cupboard too.
My monthly budget is still on target but I split it into 4 lots of £80 and so far I've been over every week! Still as long as I stay on target this last week it's ok.
Have a good day everyone.Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

Morning - quick update - spent £5.23 in Mr M yesterday bringing my June total to rather a lot!! Sig updated.
I have just checked though and have more than enough fruit and veg to last until we go away - should only need two x 4 pints of milk. So the remaining cash should last easily until end of June as just need fruit veg and dairy from 24th to 30th.
Everyone is doing so well. Keep up the good work.July 16 £95/£200

I heard (on the radio news) that they'd announced a drop in turnover or profits for the 3rd quarter in a row, with the 'low budget supermarkets' being blamed for it. Perhaps if they ran few offers and dropped prices permanently instead people wouldn't feel the need to jump ship - especially low head-count and income households like mine who don't need bulk buys of lots of the things they run offers on, and cook from scratch so buy very little processed foods (which seems to include a huger percentage of the offers). I now spend the bulk of my money at A1di and C0stco, and OH is mainly C0scto with the odd trip to A1di when he's at mine at the weekend.
A!di trip for me today - milk (again), onions, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. Need to dig receipt out of purse and add figures to my spreadsheet / signature.Cheryl0 -
Can i join in please???
Have been trying really hard to cut down on what we are spending, so have taken the great advice from the OS boards and have decided to give it a go.
The budget for this month is £220. Did a big monthly shop the yesterday so that took £138.25 but should only need fresh during the rest of the month so hoping to come under budget!
TFEI have enough money to last me the rest of my life......until I go and buy something!

Have spent the last few nights using up food we already had which was a bit of an eye opener. To be honest we could probably do another 4 days worth of dinners doing the same, but had to do an Aldi run today before the £5 voucher expires.
Spent £57.97 which included a few things I've never tried before like their hair dye, moisturiser and dry dog food. We spend a fortune on dog food so I wouldn't normally include it in the grocery budget (ama£on kindly deliver it for us). I'm usually a lidl shopper but must admit I've just done a taste test on the Aldi digestives and they're much nicer!
I've also managed to do a proper shop at Aldi, whereas lidl never seem to have everything meaning I do top up shops at morrisons, and it's those top up shops that are the root of my overspending
So sig is updated to show this plus a couple of milk/bread/fruit shops I did on Sunday and Monday. Am happy so far.
Chicken now in slow cooker for tea, will be turned into chicken curry for Thursday and Friday night's dinner.
Also enjoyed listening to the news about tesco. If I was on the board of a company like that I'd be all over threads like this one.Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Well I've been shopping again, oops.
Needed bread and milk. Bought those more yogurts as were on offer and decided to try making my own washing machine cleaner. Soda crystals if your as good as the internet says- where have you been all my life. I obviously wasn't listening when Mummy lectured on cleaning products :rotfl:
Saying that I've never seen them in their house!
So this weeks total is £51.90from my £300 or £60 for the week.Grocery Challenge June £229.58/3000 -
Just a quick update. Nsd today, not going out at all, but will tomorrow. Anyway my total is :
£9.13/£20.00
so I should be ok for the week, which ends Thursday night. The money left over goes to one side and I put it towards my emergency fund, which is building up nicely.
Still using Jacks book for evening meals and then using leftovers for lunch the next day. It's working out fine and using up my cupboard stores although I'm getting withdrawal symptoms seeing space in there!
