Haven't added 'polish legs' :rotfl: but have added some other suitable ones as extra things I think given the comments made today. Anyway the list is now up :)

Got paperwork sorted so basket on top of microwave just has my diary and meal planner in. Draw in kitchen sorted and much reduced in volume so very pleased with that. Only took about 10 mins if I am honest.

DD1 had her swimming lesson so cheated and called for chinese on way home. Her lesson isn't until 5pm so by the time we get out its 5.45, plus she got her level 1 certificate (and she has only been going 3 weeks!) so bit of a celebration. Yes I am making excuses here - lol!

    I did my PC area!!

It took most of the bloomin day right enough as it had MOUNTAINS of paperwork.

    So I,

    Went through paperwork,
    shredded what needed shredding,
binned what needed binned (all into proper recycling bins)
    sorted through the important stuff,
made a list of what I need to answer/phone/cancel etc.
Cleaned desk and hoovered the floor
cleaned the floor round about the PC desk
Hoovered my PC ( not been done for ages and a huge plume of dust blew out it the other day)

    Woohoo!

and my kids room looks WORSE than those pics!!!! I still need to hire a carpet cleaner to remove calpol stains, milk stains and... poo stains! I promise I will do it tomorrow!

    Yay Kaz,
Another not afraid to bare their dirty laundry in public (literaly)
My kids bedrooms are pretty much the same i do have one simple rule, (i like to keep the sitting room and kitchen tidy as those are the rooms people see)
If the kids leave toys or books in these rooms for any more than 48 hours i bin them (not too economical i know) but after a week or two of throwing out favourite things they soon stopped doing it.
As for their bedrooms, your dd's is tidy compared to mine ( will get to that when i finish the mammouth task i started today) i tend to let them get on with it and once every few months go in with the bin bags after a weeks notice and throw everything still lying around. I have thrown perfectly good games away ( well hidden them in the garage but what do they know) and eventually i'm hoping they will learn.
But then again everybody on this board has seen one of my junk rooms so it may be the blind leading the blind.
That's one of the reasons i am determined to stick to the change this time, if i have messy rooms what hope do my kids have when they are older?

    Leigh xx

Ah now thats where the problem could lie, because mine and OH's room is a tip. To be fair we moved into the attic conversion before it was finished - the builders basically did a bunk as it went way over budget, so we didnt get our ensuite, heating or any built in wardrobes. Am I brave enough to show those pics. mmmmm will have a think on that one.

I go into my children's bedroom with a bin bag and ask them to put everything on the floor into the bin bag for charity as 'they obviously don't want it anymore'. Amazing how quickly they clear up! xx
    January budget
    Nothing left!
  • heavenleigh your post reminded me of my ex few years ago before we split up he gave our ds's a warning that whatever was left on their floor etc would get binned that night he went charging into their room with black bag bining the lot. last yr when he was packing to move he found large bin bag with loads stuff in then he remembered that night.
    Lead us not into temptation...

just tell us where it is and we'll find it....
