  • Now that i would have liked to have done a PhD on. Imagine it. You would have a perfect excuse to have as many shoes as you wanted. In fact you would have to have them all!!! Mine was a bit more boring. I designed and tested silencers for guns, James Bond style. Was good fun testing them, and yes it is true what you see on the movies given certain parameters!

Well I'll go to t'foot of our stairs! That is so amazing - I'd never have guessed at that in a million years! Are you going to start a company - I like the sound of The Quiet Assassin.... menacing, but without any overtly macho overtones...

Broomstick - that's a classic about cutting littlies hair! Had me chuckling for ages.
Amieelister - congratulations on PHD, that must have been hard work!
    Hello to everyone else too!

I've got a free day today so i'm going to sort a bag for charity, do some of today's chores and have a general tidy up elsewhere too.

Just had letter from mortgage company with new increased rate....don't you just love them! Not!

Thank goodness there's only a week and a half of school left. Can't wait for the holidays xx

  • Chivas - I have one of those too. Anyhow, she's not speaking to me at the moment (4 weeks and counting): apparently I am being ridiculous at being unable to 'chat' for any length of time on the phone at the moment - it isn't fair on her, it seems. I daren't even go down the road of explaining that she wouldn't expect me to run a marathon if I'd broken my ankle (which is actually how impossible chatting to her about nothing seems) - that would be 'silly' and I'd have the phone put down on me again. Amazingly I can whittle away hours on here though!
Anyway - hugs to all that need them, applause to all who have earned it (especially Hev!) and it is goodbye from me until I resurface from the Spanish thing. I'll miss you all more than you'll know.

Oh, I know this is a long shot - but does anyone know what I can do about a chipped tile?? Last night I dropped a bottle of wine on the floor... felt really lucky that it hadn't broken until I saw a bl**dy hole and big scratch on my new kitchen floor... the tiles are dark granitey stone... I know it's probably a lost cause, but figured it was worth an ask!

Oh, and I just spoke to my mum on the phone - I've decided to 'try' to calm the strop so I don't start the week with a grump on ;) Positive thinking - yay!
