David Beckham - you're kidding - Brian Blessed for me........

David Beckham is on top of the list along with Channing Tatum and Michael Fassbender but that is all wishful thinking!

Responding to the questions, I live in London so quite cosmopolitan.

It might be a good idea to surround myself in more multi ethnic groups because my group of close friends are black and Asian.

In regard to hobbies, I do not pretend to like what I don't like. I am open to trying things and then I make a decision if I like it or not. Perhaps I should be a but more social at work because I work in quite a large organisation and there is a guy I have my eye on who doesn't know I exist! :o

Personally I think taste is taste - be that in terms of race, size (as you said), height etc!

I do seem to notice a lot more mixed raced couples that are black men and white women and less commonly the other way round, I wonder why?

I think you've hit the nail on the head.
You live in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world but your own social group is limited to two specific groups.
If you want to broaden your social pool you need to broaden your social life to become more inclusive- not just to "meet men" but to "meet people".
Something like meetup has a wealth of activities -might be worth a look.

I think it is just about taste like other posters have said - I have "fancied" various different guys over the years and it just happens I've never been massively attracted to someone of another race. Not to say I couldn't be, and I would have completely been willing to be, it just never happened.

So I do think it seems to be that people are naturally more likely to be attracted to their own race, but obviously not all as I know a decent number of mixed race couples.

This topic came up on big brother last year when one housemate said they preferred their men to have a Mediterranean complexion (like Dan, a different housemate) and they received a warning for racism....!

really? why? as most people have stated, you like who you like. i think the problem nowadays is that we are trying to combat racism so much and trying to intergrate everyone but it all goes down to personal choice.
i have friends who dont date outside their race black, white, asian and then you have me among others too who are not fussed about race. it just seems like the ones im attracted to arent attracted to me! :rotfl:damn me and my weakness for handsome men!

In my white middle class world, I don't get to meet that many black women (or men), but were I single, colour and race are not something that would ever matter to me.

Maybe, religion, morals, culture, outlook on life, and personality traits would factor in after a couple of dates, but I tend to avoid Christians, Theives, Vegetarians, and People who have been privately educated, but race is not anything that matters.

And that's how MOST white men feel. (I think)

mostly because black men will date any race, they dont really mind but black women are not that way inclined. they tend to want to stick with their own race

pardon me if i come across a little defensive here but are you implying that there are not many black middle class men/women?

One of the girls in there said it was racist.. But though no one in the public agreed they had to give her a warning! She was a bit of a tool anyway though haha!
