    Dear all

Nothing on the news front. I literally do not know what to do, I feel like I have spent the last 6 weeks living on the edge not knowing what to do. I almost want to know if it is bad news because then I can just get on with my life and move on up.

Debt front isnt helping much either. We are going to have to add £750 to our debt because (although people were very generous) our honeymoon cannot be reduced in cost and we received a lot less in contributions then we thought. In total it will be £3,000 (which is a lot I know but its our honeymoon!!) of which debt is £1,32 or at least will be once we pay the £750.

If I get a b word though, its better to pay off the expensive debt rather than this though isnt it?

never mind, Fingers crossed I will get news soon. Or at least some relief for the agony of waiting for so long.

    Dear all

My name is Brightspark and I am officially going crazy. I just had a 10 minutes conversation with myself to try and buck myself up.

I have a good job, I have a decent (if underpaid salary) and a husband who loves me. I am healthy, have an amazing family and have most things materially I could want.

Thank you all so much for reading and supporting and I promise not to be too awful until I get my news. x

    Hello all,

So I haven't posted for a week because I have been having a pretty awful time.

Firstly, I have been studying for my exam and it was very tough! Then on Sunday, we had the most devastating fire. I was injured and luckily DH managed to get off with a few minor burns.

Our landlord is being a complete pain, our insurance is putting us up in temporary accommodation until Wednesday morning but after that we are officially homeless! we have lost many possessions but luckily nothing irreplaceable. Last year when our water pump broke, and then when his men were redoing the kitchen floor (which was so broken that I had cut myself on) they broke the washing machine which we paid for to be fixed. He blamed us and said he had owned the flat for 10 years and no one had ever had so many problems as us. This is likely to be the reason, water pumps that are 25 years old break, and laminate that is 10 years old chips and breaks (it was broken before we moved in) and it was not our fault! we also have broken draw in the kitchen that he blamed us for until we found the email from the girl we took the tenancy over from where she confirmed this! I just wish I could look into the future and see that this all pans out ok and that we will be fine in the end.

I passed my exam earlier this week, (YAYAYAYAY!) and on the same day as I found out that we only have a roof over our heads for a week that the FCA have come back asking for more information.

I have provided them with my full noddle report, signed and agreed to more checks, including the fact I stupidly took out a pay day loan 3 years ago (my then x didnt understand that I couldnt afford things and just made me pay and I then couldnt afford to go to work - only one for £100 and managed to pay it off when due for £108) so hopefully they wont mind that.

Debt busting is being limited as have had to pay out £70 for hotels, £135 for a 'sparky!' and now we are having to move.

Our landlord has been awful, cancelling his insurance company visits until he is back from his holiday and a week later we are still no further forward. Hopefully our insurance will cover more accommodation and we can leave our current flat and move on but I feel so stressed, fat and awful! Why is it that I eat more when I am stressed? Most other people go the other way... never mind.

I hope you are all well I will catch up with all your diaries and news as soon as possible, I am just on my way out before viewing other flats. London is so expensive! But then so its living further out and getting the train in!

I have heard I am defo getting a B word at the end of the month, fingers crossed its enough to help us get another place to live whilst our landlord refuses to pay back our deposit. I just hope that it is with the tenancy deposit scheme as it was on my list but I cant find the letter confirming it.

    Anyhow take care everyone xxxx

  • Sorry to hear such awful news and I hope you weren't too badly injured. So devastating for you!

You landlord sounds like a real PITA to put it mildly. I hope you get everything sorted out asap and get as far away from him as possible.

Fingers crossed positive things happen for you very soon Xx

    Hey BrightSpark.

I just caught up on all your diary! Huge congrats on the FCA approval, that sounded like the most awful process!

Did you get a new flat sorted, sorry you've had such a rough time

Anyway I just wanted to post my support, I am also living in London and a few years ago had £16k of debt to tackle, it was so hard trying to tackle that, sit accountancy exams and try to have a social life. But I managed and as your situation sounds similar just wanted to let you know I've subscribed and will support where I can!
Its such an expensive city, you only need to step outside of your front door to spend money! I turned getting NSD'd into a bit of a game and also realised who the true friends were when I began to suggest cheapo ways to socialise instead of Mahiki, Roof Gardens and the rest of that £££ gang!
