    Good afternoon all

After a very busy christmas including a lovely cold which saw me stay in bed for 3 days I am back!

I was spoilt at Christmas and have not found a single thing in the sale I like! That aside, before Christmas I got a small gift from work and used half of it to pay down debt and the other half a lovely leather document holder for work.

I didnt put a single christmas item onto a credit card I have no paid off (cash back£££) and I am chuffed.

Work is becoming very busy but enjoyable - although I could do with a little more to try and beat my 'target' and try and earn some more £££.

I will be debt free by July. Although I wanted to pay my loan off early, the charges to do so meant it was not worth it so will not be doing that. Even a lump sum had huge penalties so thats a no no. Never mind only a couple more months.. Plus at the end of July I will have been here a year and that means I hopefully (!!) should get a payrise of some sorts or something.

Hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year xx

  • Quick debt update.

    *drum roll please*

Loan has £1,241.00 left, with 6 payments left, ending 2nd July 2016.
Credit cards have £268.65 (all at 0%) which will be paid off next month. Exciting times!!

Next month we've got the holiday to pay for (well I have!) but money is there. DH is covering the spends (although its all inc) as there will be some.

Earnt £15 of Amazon vouchers on swagbucks so using that that tobuy my holiday reads! all very exciting xx

Best win so far - holiday to Florida
  • We are off to the canaries - cheap 3* all inc with flights and transfers for £900. Since our last holiday was our honeymoon in Sept 14 I don't think its asking too much for this!

We will also be returning to my mums place in Italy in October. We might drive. Flights and hire car etc is likely to be c£250 so if we can get petrol and the crossing for this much I am tempted. Yes long old drive but the wine buying opportunity and Christmas shopping is very appealing. its 890 miles each way (gulp!) but all in discussions at the moment.

I genuinely have been feeling a little down recently, what with rising house prices, expensive pre christmas mistakes and issues with the cars etc but today I feel like a weight has been lifted. Silly I know, but knowing the huge amounts I have paid off my debt will be gone makes such a big difference.

Now I just need to pass my probation on 29th Jan and we will be all systems go! xx

  • Hi all

Confession this weekend we joined amazon prime - yes its £80 but gives us a video streaming access, free kindle books and next day on amazon. Over the year thats only £6.69 and we dont have any other subscription services.

Other than that a cheap old weekend. Hope you are all good too x

    Happy New Year, Sparky! :hello:

Holibob sounds great; good price £450 each all in.. Hope you have an amazing time, you deserve it! :cool2:

Fantastic news on debt reduction too - wish I had your financial acumen (she said, as someone who couldn't even work out how cash-back sites function :o)!
  • Robin - how lovely to hear from you!

I thought it wasn't tooooo bad - I know we could have saved that up but its needed to help us relax a little.

I am sure you can get to grips with the cash back site but if not always here for a DM or two if I can help!

I have signed up for this amz review thing and although I have spent £30 I have got 25 items! Most of which I would have bought anyhow and got for at least 75% off and the others presents. I think that is a great deal. Highly recommend it if anyone hasn't tried it already - although they could be postage costs involved if you don't have prime but still if it is something you want look out for it!

    xx
