I've just read your diary and you've done so well - you're such an inspiration!

I'm thinking about trying to get a 0% card to move some of my debt but I'm worried about being rejected on my credit rating! I'll have to look into it a bit more.

    Good luck for this week!

Lunch time. Seriously did something I have never done before. I checked my credit score. On Noddle. Its pants, but I was expecting that.

Luckily EVERYTHING IS NOW SHOWING AS UP TO DATE!!!! OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I know previous defaults look bad but also I believe I only have one?! Not the 6 I was expecting.

This makes me so happy and another milestone in my MSE journey.

    :)

This default has now been removed and I disputed it!! Amazing just got the confirmation email. (They sent everything to my old address even though I updated it with them so I had no idea. Plus default amount was £202!!). I highly recommend challenging these people - they can make mistakes and yes I should have kept up with my payments but they should have acted appropriately.

Dont forget Capital One (my DH got one for thuis) does a BT card its not very long (6 months) but meant we moved £1,000 onto that and stuck into it ASAP - a real driver. Good luck and plus check your credit report from all 3 agencies and mine was completely different with callcredit (noddle) than experian!

    Thank you for reading

    Morning all

Being a happy Sparky today even though a few things are getting me down! Forgot my lunch so had to buy some bits, but kept it healthy and cheap.

I am really trying with my exercise but honestly, how do please resit the mini eggs?! They are my biggest weakness at the moment. I managed to say no yesterday lunch but its bad MSE and bad health wise! just need to continue this...

Morning all - hope you are all looking forward to a lovely weekend. I always think January can be a bit depressing. Last year it was, I had SO much debt, I didn't know where my job was going, I was afraid, Our rent had just gone up 15% and we hadn't paid enough on our direct debits. It wasn't nice. I spent my Bonus in silly ways and enjoyed a few nice meals out.

Fast forward to this year. I've had my default removed, I've paid off loads of debt, I am FCA authorised, we moved house and are very happily married.

Therefore, I am spending this January using a tiny bit of money but lots of effort to make others have a happy start to the year.

I have arranged (with his gf) a suprise party for my little bro this weekend, I am having lots of people to stay so they dont have to worry about getting back to far away places from the party and I have given some books to people who would love them. (I could have sold these on ebay or amazing but only rec'd £2ish after costs and fees).

So if anyone would like some cheer come and say hello! Its so important we stay positive on our debt free journeys xx

  • Doing nice things for others is reward in itself Sparky, but hopefully karma will come your way and bring other nice things too.

Nice to hear you sound so positive! Enjoy the party Xx

  • Party was epic. 3 day hangover though it feels like! I danced like a Muppet all night, and didn't eat (hence the HUGE hangover I am sure) but had a great time.

Yesterday I made the most of the sunshine and sorted hundreds of little jobs in the garden (including planting my raspberries - too soon!?) had a great time sweeping up and looking after my veggies.

today I found £1 outside work, it was saying buy coffee but I didnt, and my fast day has gone really well today! I hop the weight loss continues.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend x

  • Fast day and exercise completed! yay! There is a bus strike today so even though it was pouring with rain I walked to work. £1.50 saved, and 300 calories burnt!

I feel karma is working already, got an amazing present from a friend at work, because he saw me reading my suffragette book. Feel very lucky.

Busy day, meetings and then a talk after work and the lovely lady upstairs woke me again at 4:30am shouting. She is so loud and as their bedroom is above ours its mental.... never mind.

Continuing the positive happiness theme I am making sure I tell people when they look lovely or notice they changed their hair etc. I think I made one of the ladies this morning very happy as no one else had noticed! x

Happy 'hump' day! (thats what we call it, over the hump of the week!)

Busy day yesterday, not so good spending wise or diet :( I had to buy something to eat as my lunch didn't really hit the spot and I was hungry so bought some chocolate. £1 spent and very annoying! Also, because of the bus strike in london I had to get a bloody taxi home or face an hour and a bits walk from at 9:30pm :( only £8 (not bad for a taxi home in london)..... Budgeted for but still.... annoying!

Also DH doesnt agree with the latest credit card summary, its only £94.57 for him to pay but he thinks its too much! This is all his travel for 5 weeks and I explained we use it to get the 3% cash back and that he would pay that much if he covered it himself! Less than £19 a week travel in london isn't bad....

Anyhow positivity. Fast day, and going to the gym for a class later.. Body pump!! Exciting :) xx
