    Mistakes happen, and you need to remember that 'Amazon Logistics', despite the name, just comprises a number of different, cheap, delivery companies operating in different parts of the UK. Some are good, some aren't, and within each company there are inevitably good drivers and bad ones.

    It's Amazon's responsibility, of course, and they fully accept that. But Amazon have no real control once it's been handed to the subcontractor. That's the price you pay to keep Amazon's delivery costs down, and the prices competitive.

    Most of the time it's difficult to beat Amazon on price, and that's one of the reasons why. Their customer service is still a lot better than John Lewis' though!

    It wasn't misdelivered. Delivery was never attempted, and the courier lied. Full stop. This sort of behaviour is totally unacceptable, and Amazon should realise that they are losing business by all the complaints about Amazon Logistics strewn all over the internet.

    BTW, I use John Lewis a lot, and have NEVER had a problem with them. Compared to them, Amazon Logistics are total amateurs who have no idea of what the words "customer service" mean.

    Reviewers on Trustpilot would disagree with you, as would I, as to the relative merits of Amazon and John Lewis.

    John Lewis scores 1.5/10 and Amazon 5.1/10.

    There's also the highly relevant point that in order to get free home delivery from John Lewis you have to spend £50. That, plus the much higher prices, should make them better at customer service.

    But it doesn't, hence all the appalling Trustpilot reviews.

    My personal experience, and that is all that matters to me, is totally different. Money is not everything, and I would rather pay John Lewis for the excellent service I have always received, than Amazon for the c**p that is Amazon Logistics. Liars are an abomination.

    Your choice. Clearly our experiences differ. But if we're talking liars, I'd say the John Lewis Never Knowingly Undersold policy statements take some beating! :rotfl:

    They have never told me an outright lie that they have tried to deliver, and I refused to accept it, when they have been nowhere near my house. Downright liars.

    I had parcel from another company, shown on the tracking as "delivered to letter box " It was, but to my neighbour, and as "delivered to neighbour" wasn't on the tracking, I presume they delivered to the wrong address by mistake.

    No it wasn't. They have told me that no delivery was ever attempted. It was put on the tracking, but it never happened. As I said, liars.

    I ordered a parcel from Amazon. I am usually very pleased with the delivery service...however this was the first time (to my knowledge) that they used their Logistics firm for the delivery.

    The delivery address, registered on Amazon, includes specific instructions on how to get into the building. (Sheltered housing, code needed to enter main reception)....Every other courier company has someone managed to find the front door, enter the code and deliver the package.

    Not so with Amazon Logistics.

    I was just coming back from the laundry area when I heard a banging on a window. Another resident also heard the noise and got to the window first - the courier waved the parcel. ....The side door was then opened for him and he handed the package to the other resident, and gave him the signing pad too....the other resident checked the name and gave the parcel back and said the parcel wasn't for him...the courier said 'sign!' ...the other resident refused....by this time I had come to the door and recognized it was an Amazon package...I checked the name...yes, it was for me....I pointed out to the courier that the address line said which door to use and included the keycode...he looked confused and said 'sorry...no read English'!

    How can Amazon employ drivers/couriers who cannot read the address of the parcels????!!!!

    Because, like almost every other courier company, they pay such !!!!! parcel rate that only attracts the foreign, retired and benefit cheats.

    To get 'free' delivery with Amazon it costs £79.00 per year.

    I'm a fan of Amazon and, because I live in a very rural area, use it a lot and get full value of my Prime membership. However, I also use John Lewis when buying higher value items or for smaller value items with free collection at shops so I use it when going to the 'big city' anyway.

    You pays your money and takes your choice.
