That's all well and good, but before Amazon Logistics came on the scene the one hour delivery slot was standard with Amazon Prime - via DPD.
Having to pay extra (over and above the £79 pa already being paid for Prime) isn't exactly the sort of customer service Amazon prides itself on!
The service for Prime is next day, not timed. If you do want timed deliveries there is a way to get it.
I don't get people who moan about stuff like this, if the deliveries from Amazon don't suit you find a retailer that suits your needs better.0 -

We all know that Prime is next day, not timed. But if a company priding itself on customer service shifts customers like me from a reliable timed delivery company like DPD to an unreliable untimed service like Amazon Logistics it's hardly surprising they're complaining.
Of course you can find another retailer - but you can also try, through threads like this, and complaints to Amazon, to get the message across that it's hacking people off. Amazon does listen, and it's well aware of online feedback. You do, of course, have the option to ignore the thread altogether.0 -

The fact that DPD were doing deliveries and would provide you a delivery window, was a service provided by DPD not by Amazon.
There is also the option to have stuff delivered to a collection point, Amazon Logistics will allow you to nominate a safe place for the delivery if you are not in, most of my parcels are left in the safe place that I nominated.
It's a bit unfair to come on bashing Amazon Logistics for not providing a service that they have never said they would provide, especially when there is a way to avoid being in that position to have to wait all day for your delivery.
Would you be happy to pay the extra costs on your items if it meant Amazon rolling out a nationwide DPD like delivery service? If so I would expect you to be in the minority - especially when there are ways to ensure you are not waiting in all day.
I would put money on it that as soon as Amazon can roll out a service like DPD without it crippling the cost of Items/Prime Subscription/Delivery Charge it will be done.

Having spoken to the guy who was in charge of setting up DPDs Predict software.
It cost them a fortune to develop. Its great but requires big investment.0 -
Amazon as a company have downgraded the service I pay for, simple as. They now choose a courier with slots up to 16 hours over the one they used to use which had 1 hour slots.
I'm perfectly entitled to that view thanks.
No safe place at my property for packages of the large size i order. I use Local Collect where possible (which in this area has very early cut off times for next day so more often that not it's 2 day delivery) for small and medium items. Anything bigger I can't carry home myself on the bus (nearest stop is 2 streets away) so home delivery it is.
I already opt to pay a small fee for much heavier and bigger items to get DPD over free Yodel with another company and happy to do so.0 -
I ordered an item delivered, supposedly, by Amazon Logistics.
When I checked the tracking, it said the item had been handed to the resident and even quoted my name.
No it flipping well wasn't! I was in the whole day.
I hit the 'phone me back' button on their website and received a call seconds later.
Have to admit they couldn't have been more helpful. The chap appologised and made a refund to my Amazon gift card straight away.
Either the driver stole the item or he delivered it to the wrong house. We're the first house in the road, so I think it unlikely a wrong house delivery.0 -

That's funny because my deliveries arrive within 24 hours, occasionally less than 12 hours from order to delivery. Maybe you live in some obscure, remote location :rotfl:0 -

Or have selected a delivery method that will take extra time to arrive.

AL "couldn't find" an address on a main street in Nottingham.
It surprised me somewhat...Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
