    Good morning all
    Welcome solstice!
Good luck with the horse piddle visit today, Skinty.
Hope your back improves with as much rest as you can manage, lynnejk.
Sorry your DD2's boyfriend has reacted so badly, pigpen.
Bossy, I hope the council take strong action in this case.

LW, there is no shame at all in something over which you have no control. You are a lovely person on the inside and it shines through in your love and concern for Mr LW and care of your canine lodgers, not to mention your support of so many people on this and other threads. Sorrow or embarassment, maybe - but please no shame: you have done nothing wrong and more right than you will ever know.

I had little joy from my physio visit yesterday. She says my shoulder was badly damaged by the fall I had in Germany, and is sending me for an xray tomorrow and an MRI scan asap. Until she knows what is causing the pain (e.g. possible fracture of the tubercle - the place where the tendon attaches to the ball of the shoulder joint ) she cannot give me a painkilling injection for the bursitis, so I have to grin and bear it and go back to the GP for stronger painkillers if necessary. In the meantime, keep it warm and rest it.

This morning I must flick the dusteronnastick (lovely word, LW!) round the house *lefthanded* while DH hoovers. I have finished all the curtains and gardening (except for planting out some plants that I have grown on from mini-plugs, which I can also do *lefthanded* ), so I have no excuse not to take things easier this week. Today I shall be waving to FBO *lefthanded* as I travel into Birmingham to meet one of the two old school friends with whom I am still in contact, who's coming to stay with us; we're going to look at the new City Library (busman's holiday for her!) before coming home. Apart from my 9.00 x-ray appointment tomorrow, the rest of the week is left clear for outings :D

DH's wedding ring has still not turned up. I don't think it's in the house or car. Maybe it'll turn up while I'm gardening. Other than that, I can only think that it fell off his finger when he went to the clinic - he has phoned them, but no joy there either.

Onwards and upwards! Early morning rain has given way to glorious sunshine and the garden is sparkling :j The bird feeders need replenishing again! so I must attend to them before we have breakfast.

(((Hugs))), spoons and sticks to all in need x
  • Morning all - well please don't ever hold me to a promise!!!

All I managed yesterday after a brief nap after vol job was an important email - which disappeared so I had to ring - and another couple of emails. Wiped bird c**p off DH car -- b seagulls! and prepared tea - which we didn't eat.:o

Then went for a nearly 4km walk as have decided to do the Race for Life in July and need to get into training (walking not running!).

Today my left ankle is agony and my left side of lower back - ah well perhaps I need to work up to 2.5 km first of all.

Thanks to LW for the QHC - think I'll be with you on those from now on.

Thoughts with Pigpen, Bossy, and everyone else who needs them. Welcome to Solstice.

Have a good day today - I'm not promising anything then maybe just something will be done!

    Morning all.

Pigpen Hope things improve for you all soon.

    Bossy
Hope it gets sorted out sooner rather than later.

Skint Sending you coping vibes for today. Hope everything goes okay.

Iona Take it easy. Don't go aggravating that shoulder!

    Solstice Welcome

DD called up to me all apologetic at 6.30...she's smashed the lamp in the livingroom. Multiple pieces and tiny shards everywhere (the joys of laminate flooring!) not to mention smashing the actual electrical fitting. Somehow the bulb survived :rotfl: So I bagged it up, chucked it out and was vacuuming with Henry by 7am. Good job next door is hardly ever home :rotfl: Thing is, I've been thinking to myself since before Christmas I could do with replacing it as it was bought when we moved in here 10 years ago and had seen much better days, but I kept putting it off as I couldn't find a replacement I liked. So I've taken the lamp out of her room (which she rarely used anyway) and put that there instead.

Today I need to spend some more time looking into a few income sources and reading up on them. I also have work that I need to do, but its stamping forms so I can do that while playing catch up with some TV this afternoon. ;) First, a second coffee & get the laptop with the accounts on out. I should really transfer some files over from this one (DD's, much faster and reliable than mine) to mine so I can get them backed up. :o

Off to make the coffee and then at 9am I'll try for a dailies based HHC ;)

Today is decision day for ozzy, it's 6 weeks since he got sorted and we've had to chain him since because he keeps running off. Vet said to try him off lead today and hopefully he'll stay if not we're gonna have to rehome him. Really hate the thought of giving him up but can't have him chained all the time, he loves a good run around.

    LW big hugs sweetie xx

Welcome Solstice and :hello: to any other lurkers/flutterers, come on in!

The service last night was lovely, Sentamu gave an inspiring sermon and we were reminded that change is not all bad, the new parish put on an impressive buffet and it was great to meet them. However, it was a very late night so I'm doing that thing that a battered moth does when it can't make its wings work and twitching on the floor. It's a good job I did today's list on Sat because I've still got yesterdays to do. :o

Oh pigpen that just takes the biscuit!

I've been at the emergency council meeting (you know, about the planning application we've known about for 10 days ;)). We drove round to the site to take photos, OMG it doesn't look good. I've shown the councillor the pics and my deeds / boundaries and they are to escalate it tomorrow. They need an assessor out to make sure it is safe, and are calling for an injunction to prevent any more work. He's calling me back with the lowdown tomorrow.

The good news is there is no way he will get approval. The bad news is, that is so obvious, that he clearly has something else up his sleeve and this is a smokescreen. Fingers crossed its just a rouse to tempt Persimm0n Homes to buy the land at an inflated price (they are to build nearby) so it doesn't devalue their development.

    Bl00dy politics!

    Nil flying. Ah well...

Bossymoo - all Council meetings need to to adhere to strict rules. There must be three clear days notice of a meeting. The 'clear' days don't include weekends, Bank Holidays, the day the Notice is put up or the day of the meeting. So I suspect this was the quickest your council could manage.

It is frustrating but if they had been proposing to spend your Council Tax on a holiday to the Bahamas for the Councillors you would have wanted warning of the meeting!

I deal with Planning Applications as part of my job and do have a few thoughts on your problem please let me know if you would like a couple of pointers.

Paid stuff to get on with then must make a plan of action for the house.
