Green tea is actually good for you

1000 cals a day is too low, far too low. No wonder people end up with their weight yoyoing up and down if thats all they can eat in a day.

Does it make your car run better too?

There are many blogs that make money out of desperate dieters looking for a quick fix, but the science to back it up is nowhere to be seen

Anyway, lets draw a line under it.

100 mls of milk in a cuppa seems a lot to me...

1200 cals for women and 1500 cals a day for men is the lowest recommended calories that people should be consuming without medical supervision. Im aware there are diets that are lower calorie than that, but I wouldnt touch them with a proverbial bargepole.

Today's food diary. I'm making no claims to knowing anything about dieting, but as I said in my previous post it might be useful to see a food diary from someone who doesn't need to lose weight.

Breakfast - mug of tea with semi-skimmed milk and one spoon of unrefined sugar. Bowl of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes (about 2 table spoons) with semi-skimmed milk.

Mid-morning - cup of tea with semi-skimmed milk and one spoon of unrefined sugar.

Lunch - wholemeal bread bun with tuna and mayonnaise. More tea.

Mid-afternoon - made a cup of tea but it went cold because I was trying to paint a wall at the same time, and forgot about it.

Evening meal - fish pie made with two fillets of white fish, a good handful of prawns and some cheese sauce, topped with slices of potato and served with a good portion of peas.

I'll probably have some cheese and biscuits later. Camembert and Wensleydale with maybe 6 or so savoury bikkies and real butter. And more tea, of course.

I normally eat more fruit and veg than this, but I won't be doing my weekly shop until tomorrow and things are getting a bit thin (no pun intended) on the ground.
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...

    Hi All,

sorry was travelling today so could not update my diary, but it was tough yesterday and am full of guilt on going overboard

    1. Breakfast (7:00 AM) : Tea (30l milk) + 2 Wholemeal bread + Brioche Roll :(

    2. Wholemeal bread + Egg Mayo sandwich from shop (12:30 PM)

    3. Coffee no sugar + Bannana cake (2:30 PM)

    4. Dosa {this was heavy} : 6:30 PM

I think I may have gone 2200-2500 but not sure as had to eat outside..

Don't feel guilty just say you had a bad day and eat better the next day.

I use a free app that I input everything that I eat once its weighed.
Depending on your weight and height it works out how much cals and how much exercise you should do. With lots of water and 5 fruit and veg a day it easy once you get into the swing of recording everything.
