Take the RAM out and clean the contacts with an eraser. Then slot them back in.

Let's test the new drive: SeaTools You need to burn the image to a CD and to boot off it.
After testing I suggest you use the tool to Zero Fill erase the HDD. It will completely erase everything on the drive.

Hi nd. I'm trying once again to load. Then I'll try sea tools. If it doesn't work I'm going to give up and order new tower. Thanks for your help and patience. I don't want to have to upload an operating system on the tower you recommended.

What do you think of this tower from ebuyer. Someone on this forum said to look at it.

I can't get sea tools to load up from the cd. It just goes to error loading op syst.

Did you remove and clean the RAM?

One of where you get the choice to Boot from CD and another from when it is Booting from the CD.

It sounds as if you are booting from the HDD. The HDD should not be involved in this sequence.

I haven't done that. Hubby does that because he has the tools. Is the ram on the hard drive? I may try and do it tomorrow.

Was the disc created properly? If so, it should load into RAM. If it doesn't, there could be a problem with the RAM.

How much is the PC about which you enquired?

I've uploaded two discs now and they both give the same result error. After uploading the cd drive opened on the laptop so presumably loaded ok

The pc was 269 with mouse & keyboard and windows 8.1. I don't need the mouse & keyboard
