Very kind of you Kirby, I hope this can be dealt with without going to a court. I have a very few choice words to describe this company, but I've promised not to use them on here.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

  • Well I went to Uni in Coventry so you to to keep the tenuous connection going plus I loath Companies that do this.

    So 2 + 2 makes 4 in my book:)

This strikes me as making amazing copy for any local paper, and that seems to be a way of getting it dropped too.
I'm sure they'd be very interested in this story

    Hi Coventrian,

Would advise waiting before you complain for the input from Coupon-mad as the EA2010 equally applies to the Healthcare Trust.
Your friend was an urgent/emergency admission from their walk-in-centre and this whole problem has been caused by a failure of their administration of their parking processes and procedures to exempt the patients vehicle. As the principals of the contract with Parking Eye they are jointly and severally liable for the actions of their agents.

Just line up your ducks for the mo by gathering the contact details and getting ready to fire off your complaints once armed ;)

Edit: Just wanted to add that whatever the Trusts failings it in no way excuses the reprehensible behaviour of P E who should have cancelled this the moment they were advised of the person's situation.
  • I have informed the national press. Will be in touch if any are interested.

Fight them with help from 'mad coupon' and you will win. PE (as well as other PPCs) do try to intimidate people into paying. But the issue is their business model is very odd, and they do not really have a sustainable business.

However, your situation seems to be more to do with EA 2010.

I'm sure one of the things coupon-mad will suggest when it comes to the court papers is to ask the court to refer it to mediation (POPLA) and a number of courts seem to have complied with this.

So, the other thing you could do in preparation is to have a look at the thread on how to win at POPLA as you may need all the basic arguments as well as the EA 2010 arguments.
