Alpharooms mess up yet again

    Result zaksmum! I am pleased for you. Is the new hotel actually supposed to be more expensive than the other then? Seems that alpharooms have redeemed themselves, although I still think 'Jessica' was a fairly inept company rep.

    I would be checking with the new hotel directly to make sure you are actually booked in this time though!

    I certainly will be checking that I'm booked in, Annabee.

    Mind you, I did that with the Pelicanos too in a way.

    I emailed them to tell them I was booked in with them, told them the dates and requested a high floor. They emailed back and said they had taken note of our request and would do their best to grant it.

    No mention of "we have no booking for you!" which is what they said when I contacted them when Alpharooms informed me they had messed up and my booking no longer existed!

    Dear God, what a stressful weekend I've had:(

    Booked a hotel with this company a week ago and all seemed well as i received my accommodation vouchers and they took payment from my card. So off we went and booked all our excursions, visa's, car hire & transfers all with the address of the hotel booked with the lovely alpha rooms.
    I was then called today by a member of the customer service team who told me there had been and error with my booking and that i was no longer staying at my chosen hotel but instead 2 miles down the road in what looks like a glorified skip. I didn't worry to much to start with as i thought any half decent company would rectify there error and sort us out with a new hotel we were happy with or compensate us for all the changes we will have to make to separate bookings due to the address change.
    I was called later in the day by a rude obnoxious so called manager (text removed by MSE Forum Team) who bluntly told me that i either have a refund or stay in the skip they had provided as alternative accommodation and that i had 'no chance' of getting any compensation for the huge amount of hassle and cost i now have to change the address on all my travel documents. I have never had such bad service from anyone in my entire life they have in effect stolen £311 pounds from my account and miss represented me a hotel booking that never existed. I will be spending the next few days trying to claim my money back and change a number of document details as well as reporting alpharooms to as many of the travel authorities and watch dog's as possible, i will also be keeping people informed regularly on social media of the risks involved in giving this company for money, and don't just take my word for it there are plenty more appalling reviews online that are not hard to find.

  • In February we booked a hotel in Dubrovnik through alpha rooms, for this August.

    We received an email confirmation, and later another from booking.com who advised that they were now responsible for this booking.

    On arrival at the Hotel Adriatic we were told we were in The Adriactica rooms a few metres away.
    We argued about this, and said we booked the hotel through alpha rooms, and were told that our booking was never with alpha rooms and more or less made to feel we were lying.
    We couldn't open the email from alpha rooms to show them as the wifi didn't work, there.

    Called booking.com by Skype as soon as we found a wifi, who said they would look into it..

    It was the pits, the most disgusting place we've ever stayed.

    After 2 nights in this dump booking.com finally got back to us and said we could go elsewhere and just pay for the time we had there and not the whole 3 nights we had booked.

    Dubrovnik in August is very expensive, hence booking in February, and who wants to trapse around trying to find somewhere for one night when we has a limited amount of time to sightsee and only one night left.

    Booking.com haven't answered our subsequent emails, although alpha rooms have.

    They've admitted they made a mistake and the wrong accommodation was booked and have offered us 10% off our next booking with them.

    Like we would ever book with them again!

    They say we're not entitled to anything more as both properties are 2*

    That's all very well but the reviews are vastly different and no way we would have booked the Adriatica rooms having read those reviews.

    A solicitor friend says they're in breach of contract and I should continue to fight.

    I may well do, but it doesn't make up for spoiling a trip we had wanted to do for over 20 years :(

    Please be careful of this company, and booking.com too, who have been less than useless.
