Time to start out on my own

Received my first lot off healthy start vouchers, which will time over with fresh veg for the girls for the first few weeks.
Trying to figure out how I'm going to tackle my c/c debt once I'm in the house, money will be tight. So I think eBay will be my main source off paying it off. Got about £1800 left so it's going to be tough going. But want rid so I can start saving for a holiday and my money's my own. Going to be a case off really scrimping by, trying to make every penny count. Will need to find lots off cheap meal ideas, save on electric etc it's going to be really hard going but needs to be done.
Managed to source a lovley TV stand from Facebook pages for only £10 and £5 for them to deliver! Really made up as the same was £130 in Argos. They were getting rid as they couldn't be bothered dusting it all the time!
Me and ex starting to put some items on eBay then were going to spilt the money. Think sold a two piece sofa for £60, so £25 each after fees. He's got a new flat, few things to clear out and eBay there. Sold Moses basket stand for £10 already, just need to get in there properly and hit it properly!! Need to make £100 to afford new sofa :-)Debt Remaing £315 :jBreath out the past, Breath in the futureBig Dreams Start Small0 -

Hi JoJo, just found your thread and read it all the way through. it has brought back so many memories for me, I left my abusive hubby in 2002 - seems a lifetime ago now.
My first attempt failed, due to lack of money and preparation, and I ended up going back for 6 months. but the situation worsened, and when I left the second time, I knew it had to be for good this time.
I'm so impressed by how much better prepared you are than I was - I ended up getting in to a lot of debt, and I didn't even have children!! I would do it differently now but I didn't discover this site for another few years and at least I did manage to leave and make a new life for myself. I have a lovely home now (shared ownership with a housing association) and I'm taking inspiration from you right now as I need to redecorate without getting into more debt!!!!
Just want to say a huge well done and give you my support hun, will be following your thread xxx£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

Hi!
Been reading your diary, you really are amazing, and such a strong lady for getting out of a bad situation to make yours and your girls lives happier and healthier.
I think you have all the clothes you need however if you need more or any other bits and bobs, have you tried looking round local boot fairs? We went to one today and picked up clothes for both our kids, mostly 25p or 50p per item and really good quality if you ever got the time to root through and find the bits you like.
If you ignore the tat you can find nice household bits too. Take a look at the traders too - there was one selling second hand Dysons for £50! And as we were there late we got cheap bread from the bakers stall and cheap meat from the butchers van

Hummingbird - thank you and good luck with the redecorating :-)
Keep a eye on Facebook selling pages, it's amazing what people want to get rid off. Most off the items are still in shops at much higher price. Keep yours eyes peeled out everywhere. For example you can gets tins off paint at some local charity furniture shops. My local market has very large beautiful rugs for £30, similar in Argos £85. Also, I downloaded it the Argos app and favourite items I want, they go up and down all the time! Sometimes £100's off pounds. There's no need to get credit too buy new things, just make what you got go as far as possible. I'm glad I learnt this through mse or I don't know where I be right now xxDebt Remaing £315 :jBreath out the past, Breath in the futureBig Dreams Start Small0 -
