Do you realise this thread started one month ago today?

Starting on 04/05/14, you've come so far in such a short period of time :)

You clearly have everything in hand, I'm actually quite proud of you :) enjoy your evening x

    Thank you xxxx

No I hadn't realised it had been a month! I have done quite a lot in such a short time! Being out off the situation has made me focus on trying to be happy and get my life back in gear. Something I haven't mentioned yet is I was dianoigsed with diabetices in my pregnacy and it's stayed. Type 1 insulin dependant. I wasn't managing it very well, I'd turned into a bag off bones. I'm now slowly beginning to get there with it, some good days some bad. However, the good days are a little more now. Hoping this will continue, especially when I'm settled in the new house.

Had a nice night, couple off games off pool and chin wag. And my friends partner paid for it all, so that's a bonus too :-)

Lots more off little jobs done today!

Sent off for passport for the little one (just incase). Brought a money tin, have budgeted for large goods and put amounts in envelopes, that's the max I can spend on that item. If I manage to get anything for cheaper, then that will move into another envelope for the next thing I'm saving for. Nice to be able to visualise. Nipped friends and paid for taxi money for a night out in a months time.

Picked up a few bits needed too, spent as little as poss just to tie me over for now.

Feeling good money wise as haven't wasted anything, anything brought has been stuff for the house and getting everything as cheap as possible. Even been hitting the charity shops.

Looking forward to markets on Sunday as there's a few bits I'm hoping to pick up for a pound a piece rather than four or five pound a go. And I'll be able to put more ticks on my list

  • Jojo, you are an absolute inspiration! My situation is nothing like yours, but if I find a fraction of your gumption and positivity to solve my own problems I'd be sorted in no time. Your daughter is blessed to have you as her mother and I hope at some point your ex sorts himself out. I am sure by then you'll be long gone and happy in another deserved good relationship, but so he is the best father he can be for your daughter. I wish you every luck and good thing I can think of and you deserve it all. Thanks for sharing.

    Morning everyone

Not much planned today, will have to find something to do today. Thinking I will unpackage items I've brought to reduce amount off space they take up. Plus less rubbish in new house :-)

Wouldn't it be nice to get a call from council saying I can view house next week. Doubt it though haha. Still be a while yet!

I've not always been this organised, just comes with experience and learning from your mistakes. Plus not working at the moment so loads off free time, I've always worked 60+ hours a week and had to manage to do things around that, so now I don't know do with myself half the time, thank god I've my kids :-)

Keep going at it, I'm sure your get there. I've learnt a lot from this site and still am. The longer I've been reducing debt spending etc the more willing I am to step down another level. I would never off bought clothes from a charity shop a year ago, yet the other day I brought 3 newlook items for £3 which normally would off costs £60. Everyday I seam to pick up another tip etc

Been around the markets today. Wasnt really anything there I can buy at the moment. However did pick up a baby walker for £7. Got use off one here at my sisters, but need one one for the baba so she's got somewhere to watch me while decorating and sorting in the new house. She's not going to be in it long but will serve it's purpose and hopefully will get my money back selling it on Facebook.

There is a stall that does rugs for really cheap, so looking forward to when I can buy some off them :-)

Still no news yet :-) hehe

Got lots more little things for house. Nice seeing the list getting smaller and smaller. Finding lots off bargains making my money go further. Waiting on a few bits from eBay as well. Treated myself to a couple off things for the house, which techniqully I don't need but are nice to have. Nice to be in the position to do so. Making do everywhere else is freeing up my money elsewhere.

Going a letter from debt collection from old house, originally from eon. Saying I owe £60. However the date they say I moved out is a longer than I actually did and it was a pre meter??? Will ring eon direct and sort today.

In town today so will try and get a few smaller bits agains. Also doing a bit off packing in pub, just doing a little every Wednesday at moment, no major rush but every little helps for when the big day comes.

Also need to sort appointment with health care visitor to get milk vouchers signed.

Lots to do today, best make a start, after my brew :-)

Since I read all your thread I didn't want to just read and run. But all I've got to say is good for you! You've done what I should have done years before I finally did it. I wish you all the best. x
