Neighbours parking on drive and across drive.

It's either a very rough area and/or the OP is way too timid.
Either way, I'd be looking to move away from such a neighbourhood of morons.0 -
Video camera is probably the best solution. Put a video camera out there, put a chain up and if they cut it (I assume you will padlock it so they have to) report it to the police as criminal damage.
Alternatively, wait for someone to park in the spot, block them in, and then don't move your car. Keep the camera running in case they attempt to vandalise the car.0 -

Blocking them in, thereby preventing access back to the road, is a criminal offence of obstructing the highway ... probably not a great idea.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I have spent the day observing from the front window.
I haven't seen anything so far.
In response to some of the ideas suggested I am afraid it is not a nice area and I do not have the option to move away.
The chain did work and so did its replacement until that too went west.
I have tried to get a camera but finances are not able to stretch a long story.
I am currently building a barricade out of some pallets I have acquired.
As soon as I need to I intend to build a large wooden barricade and nail it together. My intention is to have a large immovable object. That I can assemble in a very short amount of time before going out.
I am not sure if this is going to cause a problem but as it is my drive I cant see a problem.

Some of the scumbags will see this as a challenge. Be careful you don't cause yourself more problems.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Is a large immovable object that can be quickly assembled and dissembled into movable parts so you can use the drive a bit of an oxymoron?
I think I would be tempted to stick a few large planters full of concrete on the drive to block access for everyone, park on the road then use the driveway as extra outdoor space.0 -

The weak spot would be the padlock, if the neighbours are prone to cutting chains and locks etc.0 -
what about this:
