So after googling this number, I can honestly say that I am looking forward to December when I can leave Vodafone! I have never known such terrible service in my life!

If it didnt cost me a big amount to drop my contract now I would! I asked for an unlock code 6 months ago and i am still waiting, and now Im being hounded 3 times a day by this "Vodafone" number which it turns out is not Vodafone but somebody Vodafone happily gave my details to. Even then, they hang up when i answer! Thanks for making this an easy decision for me! Id rather pay full price elsewhere than use my company discount with you lot!

Im being hounded 3 times a day by this "Vodafone" number which it turns out is not Vodafone but somebody Vodafone happily gave my details to.

There's no guarantee they will stop if you move. Its not vodafone calling you why will moving networks make any odds.

Back in the early days of mobile numbers were allocated and sold in blocks, so lets say 07111 was given to Vodafone on the 1st of January.

These companies will know when Vodafone applied for another block (lets say 07112) and lets say that was the 1st of March.

Its not rocket science for a unscrupulous company to call every number from 07111 000000 through to 07111 999999 around December time to try and flog upgrades, as a vast proportion of the numbers will have a upgrade cycle of 12 or 24 months so will come up for renewal in the January to March timeframe.

My number is currently in Tesco Mobile, but was on Vodafone originally, I used to get people calling from Vodafone to offer an upgrade, and they soon put the phone down when I pointed out it my number had been ported to Tesco, they've died down, but I'm not sure its becasue the spammers have realised I call their bluff, or they've a way to track ported numbers now.

In all likelihood Vodafone may not have given out your number, its just a telesales company spamming a entire number range, its possible its a company who Vodafone used to use but since severed ties, and they then who retained a database, probalby somethign Vodafone spefically did not allow them to but if they are going to to spam call people they will not care about other rules...

In all likelihood it is Vodafone supplying the details as the company have access to more than just the phone number, they know the customers name, address and number of lines as well usually and can sell and upgrade Vodafone accounts.

Vodafone are the scum of the mobile industry, they give access to their customers to all sorts of dubious companies and also spam sms their customers themselves.

Yes, this. The number has been confirmed elsewhere as a Vodafone third party number. But I get so much rubbish off Vodafone anyway via texts. I turned off marketing but I still get them. I joined the TPS and I still get them. And this isnt the first time its happened. Well once I can live with using the block call function (I get a decent discount through work so it was not the end of the world blocking a number) but to happen again is more than a little frustrating. My other half has an EE phone, nothing like this. I have a second line with O2, nothing like this. Im done with Vodafone.

  • Lee,

I have tried to follow your link but it just takes me to your MSE page and there is no link to be able to post to you.
I have been sold a tablet as I was a loyal customer (from the above number) they confirmed that they were from Vodafone but when I did live chat with Vodafone to complain (as the specs and everything are not what I was sold) they told me that it was a 3rd party number and therefore there was nothing they could do to help me. They said that it is not even showing on my account (altho I received the tab today).
I am furious as the number has been confirmed as Vodafone on other sites (by Vodafone representatives) but Vodafone chat is saying that its not Vodafone and therefore it is not their problem.
Can you help please? I am confused and very angry and am thinking about taking this further.
    Thanks
    Gill

Copy the series of letters and numbers directly under 'biography'

Paste the numbers and letters into a web page and voilà you get the vf social escalation hub page.
