Of all the silly wine promotions Morries try to "trick" you with, they have come up trumps this time.

**** sorry, not available in Scotland!

The Rioja is a good price as well as others.

They were virtually out of stock in my local last night, but had put some of the bin ends on the display and sold them at 3 for £10.
I got a couple of Nederburg Motorcycle Marvel (supposedly originally £14.99 - lol) and a bottle of Crozes-Hermitage (was £8.99 - lol). But a bargain at 3 for £10.
They Guy advised they were expecting loads overnight and to come in early as the bottles were "flying out".
I picked up 2 x Campo Viejo Rioja and a bottle of Fish Hoek Shiraz today and plenty left. Some were filling their trolleys and baskets though.
Hope this is a regular event, cheaper than Spain!!

Yes, seems they don't hang around. Did manage to get some Rioja & Prosecco eventually, but had to be persistent & keep popping in.

They do need to get the stock levels sorted out, our ususl shop is around £80...we only spent £50 this week and it was due to the stock levels just being that bad...OH had to buy crisps from the co-op ~ ran out of little ones baby milk but had loads of it in a different number I reckon they ordered the wrong one personally...little stuff but thats £30 we have to pick up and spend elsewhere.
People don't know what they want until you show them.

Agreed. The last two trips I've made to Morrisons have been quite disappointing. Stock levels were poor and don't even mention the much vaunted 'price reductions'.

It's as if the battering the company has received in recent weeks has dented morale. It needs to get itself sorted out - and quickly.

Morrisons is the only supermarket that does not have any automatic stock control, based on sales. Won't be introduced until 2016/17!

The others say for example a store had 200 tins of a line of baked beans sold in a day, the electronic system re-orders them. These beans come in cases of 24, so 9 cases are automatically ordered. Then they do have stock control assistants to order more if the product is going to be on offer soon. Or less if they have loads in the back.

The next time you are in Sainsburys and see yellow tickets with numbers on them, this means the number of cases they have which don't fit the shelf. So the stock control assistant goes round and holds automatic re-ordering etc.

I haven't tried this one yet, but I would say prosecco is drier than spumante. It is sparkling, but not that sweet. More like cava, if you've tried that.

The problem is when the actual physical stock on the shelf doesn't agree with the computer. One of my favourites had none on the shelf but had some on the computer, so because none was sold none was reordered
and because none was reordered there were none on the shelf so none was sold.
Anyone who has ever been involved with stock control knows this.
The only thing that is constant is change.
