OT but I've been getting this weird thing in my foot for about 3 weeks now, I wake up and I can't sit it flat on the floor or walk on it properly, it eases off during the day but doesn't fully go away, has anyone else had that happen?
I was going to go to the docs anyway but while cleaning up for Jon's visit, I stood on an upturned plug and took one hell of a chunk out of the bottom/outer side of the same foot, it's pretty bloody painful so I'm going to get them to check it's not infected. I clean it every day and change the plaster, it looks ok (using a mirror to see), I'd love to let it air but I have to walk on it so it's a no-no, and just before my trip to this, which I love and am NOT going to miss!!

It is a great show, used to live just under an hour's drive from it. Last time we went it was so hot we had to keep taking rests, we had the dogs with us, because it is so agricultural and country based, there were drinks for them everywhere and of course, lots of great things for them to enjoy, one of them got a bit excited by the ferret racing though:rotfl: I hope that the ground dries up, I think they had to abandon one of the Devon ones early:(
I hope that you have a great time, and that the foot heals quickly. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
I daren't look in our TK Maxx.
I rarely leave one of their shops empty handed and I'm not supposed to be buying new clothes or unwanted toiletries.
Welcome back Fixx! Lovely to see you again. Welcome to 321 as well, have seen you elsewhere on the Forum and great to have you with us.
NBI of a little competition prize, a 20g Burt's Bees Coconut Oil Foot Cream.
UU on the Project Pan list: the 60g Scholl Velvet Foot Mask that Am@zon gave me to trial.
WIB? I posted my review on Am@zon and my verdict was that whilst it is a really lovely product to use, very velvety and rubs in well, as my feet are already in good nick, I found it hard to justify the relatively high price tag. They stayed in good condition whilst it was in use, showing that performance at least matched the Aldi Lacura foot cream retailing at 1/10th of the price of the Scholl (in terms of price per ml)
The price on Am@zon has come down from the £7+ it was initially, but it is still expensive for what it is.
WIB? If my feet were in poor condition and money wasn't an object I would buy this. However, neither applies!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Yes, very familiar.
This is my experience and not to be taken as medical advice.
That sounds like a variation on plantar fasciitis. What is happened to me was that the Achilles tendon/ tendons under my feet were contracting whilst I was asleep and then being stretched as I put my foot to the floor, leading to what used to be thought of as heel spurs causing a sharp pain in my heel, sometimes a deep cramping pain under the foot too.
It's more or less been proved that heel spurs don't exist, but the pain is real. As I walked on it the tendon stretched again and the pain tended to ease off.
It is possible to be fitted with a night splint to stretch the tendons.
My sister had this. I wasn't offered this treatment.
Anti-inflammatories helped me as did gel pads in my shoes, which I still use. I know that getting my weight down would help more too. I know there are wiser counsels than me around.
Hope the foot heals well.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Mine's not bad, at the moment it's quite decent! It is a great show, used to live just under an hour's drive from it. I like that the RSPCA patrol the car parks, some people are so stupid and it's good knowing there are people looking after the animals of the visitors as well as the exhibitors/farmers.
I think it's great, people taking their dogs around the show, it's a country show and full of animals, it really adds to the atmosphere!mcculloch29 wrote: »Yes, very familiar.

I don't get sharp pains or cramping with it, I just can't lie my foot flat, it's as though the arch under my foot has stuck in that sort of position, it's really weird, it gets worse sometimes and is non-existent at other times.
I can't take anti-inflammatories unfortunately so I'm just going to have to live with it until my doc appt........on the 11th of June! :eek:No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

Just caught up with the thread, I'm on my holidays in the south of Spain, glorious weather and uu lots of samples and sachets
back tomorrow and just managed to get wifi.
Lots to catch up with, hi to everyone, Ayr is lovely kadison and yes the Glasgow Art School fire looked scarey from the pictures I've seen.
I will definitely be looking up the aldi eye cream when I get back too as that's somethingmI'm particularly careful of and the reviews are goodLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -
Welcome 321 and fixx.
UU
LRP effaclar foaming gel for oily skin WNBA strips my skin of any moisture.
LPR effaclar clarifying lotion - WNBA this was worse than the above I should have repurposed as paint stripper.
Marble & Milkweed nourishing body oil 3.75ml - This was truly gorgeous but at £29 for 118ml I dont think I will be buying anytime soon.
My latest in beauty british blogger box as just arrived .......oh dear.No more buying toiletries0 -
UU a bottle or L'Oreal everRiche shampoo and a little bottle of Sanctuary Spa body wash.
I went away for a weekend, and forgot to take my make-up bag with me though. I wouldn't have minded too much, but I had an interview today, and couldn't go make-up-less for that (well I could, but I felt it would be better not to). I bought a new Rimmel eyeshadow and Collection 2000 mascara. Cheap and cheerful. In a 3 for 2 offer though, so I also got a little gold eyeshadow crayon, which I used to apply a really thin layer of glimmer to my lips and cheeks. Had a reasonable effect. But that's 3 INs!0 -
Welcome to the thread 321 and welcome back fixx, I remember your horror at the price of Swiss toiletries
I had a problem with the arch of my foot a couple of years back kadison which I put down to wearing cheap flat ballet pumps too often. They had absolutely no arch support and I tend to walk quite far every day so I think my foot just gave up on me! It was extremely painful for a few months but I switched to wearing proper walking trainers every day and it did eventually get better. I didn't go to the doctors, now you mention it that would probably have been sensible :rotfl:
Stepping on the plug sounds horrible though, just the icing on the cake for your sore foot!
I will hopefully have some UU to post before the end of the month! No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018
