mothernerd I think you should accept the food parcel from the food bank and your health worker is right that you have and are helping others. Maybe you could consider making a similar sized donation back further down the line in the future?
Glad the nursery was nice siannielaz
Today was a very spend day. Annual dog hair cut trip, luckily only 2 out of the 4 need doing but one is a specialist type so that was £95!!! Due to my new money managing abilities, we had it put to one side
Also had a little treat for me, although not at the same place as the dogs!
Walked the dogs and went to the gym so quite a nice peaceful day

Another spend free day today (we are doing with these), but I spent on food yesterday a total of £7.12 some of the money came from cash in my purse and the rest of it from my bank account. Therefore I now have £6.73 left in my bank account.
Pay day is Friday, however, I got 2 emails from Q*C about my next instalments for 2 beauty products. One instalment is due tomorrow for £6.39, which would leave me with the grand total of 34p in my account! However, the second instalment on the second product is due on Thursday 29th for £10.14 which means I will be overdrawn by £9.80 for one day. A school girl error not making sure I had the money for the second instalment. I have already paid the first instalments in this pay period; I thought the next instalments would be due after pay day, how annoying. I will budget better next month. I did more of my exercise DVD, its good to feel the warm glow of increased circulation. It is good to read about everybody else keeping up with their exercises, yoga and gym sessions.
I had to go in to work today to take an exam for my course and I picked up my payslip. I got the £66 underpayment from last month, plus a little extra not sure why, but I won’t be mentioning it. So that will be a little extra to pay toward the bcard. I cannot wait until payday I will finally be under £2000 mark.

Morning all! Yesterday was nuts and spent the whole day collecting stuff and cooking for sons party. All went well and as it's a sleepover, the party. thanks to the PS4 is still going strong upstairs! What it is to be young-and don't know how they do it,lol!
Mothernerd- No way should you feel guilty about the parcel. There will always be someone worse off than us, but we still have our own issues worthy of a helping hand. Learn to accept the help you don't think twice of to give to others
Sianielaz-glad the nursery visit went well
Yesterday was bot a spendy day and I don't anticipate one today. The weather is awful so I'm staying in! Tomorrow is payday and I will therefore go below 8k :j cannot wait.

Hello Tributes,
Hope you are all well on this rainy Wednesday.
Yesterday wasn't an NSD, as had to pay parking for work (will claim it back but it takes a couple of months). Nothing much else to report - excited to get started with June now!
SiannieLaz - glad nursery went well, it sounds like you've found just the place!
Moomin - meal sounds great, and so much better knowing you'd budgeted - it is very inspiring, and I do feel my attitude is changing - I don't just want nice things, I want to know I can afford and pay for them without the guilt!
Mothernerd - hugs, I agree with everyone, it sounds like you need some help right now and after all the help you give others it seems only fair.

Definitely! I probably wouldn't have risked it at the beginning of the month, but know I can manage it with only a few days to goWe went for the earlybird menu as well which was £14.95 for two courses. One of my friends had a main course that should have been £17.95 on its own. We all ended up with three courses though - I can't resist a banoffee pie

I agree completely.
I have had a lot of people say 2018 is so far away but it is that far away for a reason.
If I finish paying off my debts by the end of December then I can start putting that money into a different account and start saving for the wedding/honeymoon.
In 3 years, if I put the £400 - £600 a month into that savings account, we could have anything from £14,400 - £21,000 saved up. That means that we could have anything we wanted and not look at the cost.
We still will but what I mean is that we can buy a wedding cake for £80 and not think twice about maybe getting the cheaper one at £60. (not a great example as I have no clue about the cost of wedding cakes and my neighbour is going to make mine for me).
Basically, I am trying to agree that it will be so much sweeter getting married and having our honeymoon knowing that we have it all paid for and don't need to come back to huge credit card bills.
None of this probably made sense but it kinda did in my head. For the record, the wedding will not be costing £14,000 but I want to be able to say yes to something and not worry about the cost. (also the honeymoon is going to be amazing as it is a once-in-a-lifetime event).

Now, I feel like the message has gotten lost in all my ramblings and I am probably being really offensive talking about money like this. Sorry.
It makes perfect sense to me. You save up, using money that would previously have gone in to the ether (which is debt repayments now) and know that you're starting your life unburdened and with a lovely dress/cake/whatever that makes your day special for you.
Sounds great0 -
Sorry about the lack of check in today - things have been CRAZY today. Off to celebrate my friends birthday with her! More later.

NSD 22. Thought I was going to have to pay for a taxi to my physio appointment. I had been up for an hour and still stuck in a chair - could not put any weight on my bad leg, was nearly in tears. Thought it was too late to cancel.
Eventually it started to move so set off an hour early and called in to see the health trainer beforehand, so now have a card for the food bank tomorrow and they will interview me to see whether they will give me a parcel. Physio was wonderful, massaged lots of knots out of my leg - he has warned me that I might be covered in bruises tomorrow. Suggested heat would help - did I have a hot water bottle. So I said I would use the laptop on my leg.
Weather seemed to call for comfort food so have taken onion soup, a portion of lasagne and 2 curries from the freezer (one from each of the past 4 months) to defrost. Have peeled all the remaining carrots - I will have the cake i have been promising myself for months and started soaking all the remaining marrowfat peas as the hm pea shoots were delicious. Probably going to try radish and coriander as well.
Veg progression is going well - 3 tiny lettuce (only an inch high yet) now have their own pots on the kitchen windowsill, together with 5 chilli plants. All the potatoes and onions are outside in 'sacks' and as soon as there is a five minute break in the weather, the courgettes are being planted out too. Set off another batch of lettuce seed. The first batch of 'toilet roll middle' dwarf beans are now 6" high and I nearly have enough toilet rolls to fill the second washing up bowl. Just a matter of deciding what needs urgent attention - cabbage and broccoli are coming out of their current containers but need to be grown on for a couple more weeks yet (a half hearted slug would make mincemeat of them overnight in the garden).
If I don't get the food parcel I may just decide to see how far into June I can get before spending anything on food - even if I end up eating slightly peculiar combinations. I still have some ys'd strawberries which I think will put into another sugar free jelly - odd squishy ones will not be noticeable. I also had a recipe I used to use for salmon mousse, which might be adapted to stretch the last tin of tuna and could have it on crispbread or the last few oatcakes (think they were bought for Christmas but they are in little parcels of 7 crackers so not ood) - will have to use creme fraiche instead of cottage cheese but probably just need to alter the proportions or add extra geletine. Someone on another thread had a butterbean spread - yumm.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
