Everyone at the food bank was lovely and I was given 2 carrier bags of tins and packets and toast whilst I was there (could have had an egg or beans on it but the toast was lovely - thick white bread, which I never allow myself but wonderful every now and then). The only questions they asked were about my food preferences. I don't drink tea or coffee but still got given some, so I handed it back - may as well save it for someone who can use it.

I can go each week for as long as I need to, but need to get the referral card from my health trainer each time. Still thinking it over as I feel so wiped out from walking to all my appointments this week. Will have to be careful with some of the things due to a high sugar content - was given a box of cereal clusters (yummy honey but have decided I must treat them like sweets - only a few a day).

Then the post came - as DS3 is no longer a student (he still has 2 exams) the council tax will revert to full amount from next month, so another £30 to find.

Planted out the courgettes - there are 3 flowers. Also put out and brought in washing.

Spent £1 on a bus home from the food bank, tried to walk but changed my mind after a few paces - 5 - 10 minutes walk at each end.

Mum phoned to say she was going out for the day tomorrow - but I can go too. I am so excited, acting like I am 5 years old. Not been to the seaside for 7 years. Slightly anxious about sitting in one position for an hour and have been racking my brains over food - we have to take our own but will probably get bought tea. I had a 2 litre bottle but have been using it to water plants so had discarded the top - searched cupboards and fridge to find a matching size top. Lemon juice bottle - have even added a slosh of lemon juice so have posh water setting in the freezer. Written a list of what I want to take.

Need an early night as have moved the alarm another 2 hours forward and have so far struggled to get up every day.

If you are putting exercise in the June challenge KAT, it had better be the 'each according to their own ability' type not that 'sweaty lycra' stuff - just remember some of us are doing well, being able to put our own socks on.

    Hi everyone,

So sorry I've been MIA for last 5 days. Been so busy with work and travelling I've been zonked and fallen asleep before I've had chance to update.

I've had 1 SFD, but unfortunately when Ive been away I've stopped for tea at various places on the way home which has resulted in a £21.40 spend  over the week. very angry with myself.

I have been day off today though and spent it by sorting my sisters savings accounts out for her and helping her with her budgets and then nipped to get a 30 minute pampering foot session at the local foot clinic. It was a £20 spend but I'm not classing this as an actual spend as I can claim the whole lot back through my medical cash back scheme, I've sent the claim form already so money should be back in my account this time next week.

I also went to collect a letter from post office which was my £65 Tesco vouchers from Sky........I found it under the rewards section in my account last month and they just got delivered. Other than this I also collected a letter from my mums which was a coupon for a 400 g bag of royal canine cat food from local pet shop......went to pick up my freebie to find over 10 choices of food worth £4.50. Great find after signing up on the website so I've signed up my mum and sister so they also get a voucher and free cat food for me......ha ha ha they are aware they are getting coupons and have no cats so they are helping feed my cat for June :money: :j

Anyway here's the update on budgets, slightly over on a couple, I've worked out it's going to be £134 on fuel to claim back, and have another day in Chester on Monday :( on the other hand I'm really happy with my achievements this month, and will review this on Saturday.

    Budget update:
    1. Food £51.55/£50 (£2 on a Christmas savings card)
    2. SFD 14/15
    3. Petrol £94.36/£40........ Can claim £120 back in expenses from work. Was unexpected due to working away for 3 days
    4. Birthday £10.49/£10- for friend
    5. Social £50.60/£50....mainly for said friends birthday night out which was planned months ago
    6 LTW 15/22
    7. Part pay holiday £303.77/£300

    Hello and happy Friday everyone!

NSD for me yesterday, so have met the target, hooray! Well done to everyone who has - we've all done really well this month!:j:beer:

Mothernerd - glad the food bank went so well, enjoy your day out!

Moomin - well done on the job and enjoy the wedding.

Traveller - glad the break has helped with the stress, and well done on below 8K!

Applemuncher - thank you so much for your posts about good things each day, they really help to remind me to think more positive!

Kenyakate - that made me laugh about the toilet roll, I do the same sort of thing when i go to my mum's and always seem to leave with a bag of stuff!

Looking at my budgets, I'm not far off most of them, so I'm pleased. Have paid off the loan payment as usual this month, but saved my target towards the 0% credit cards as well, so that's not too bad. Could do better though.

Thanks so much for running the challenge this month Kat - and thanks to everyone for your support, you are lovely. I still have a way to go to improve old habits, but I've had a whole month where, even when I've been stressed, I haven't got in old habits of buying. My downfall was online clothes buying - getting sent codes by websites for free delivery, thinking it's only in the sale, or I've got some money in my paypal so it's ok...then getting what I'd ordered which would never fit or look good (I'm not the only one whose between two sizes and always orders the lower one in hope, only to find 9 times out of 10 it's not a good fit, right?) and it not being worth sending back with the postage so adding it to an overflowing cupboard, feeling guilty and so buying more clothes and/or chocolate to cheer me up. I haven't done that AT ALL, and I'm really pleased. So thank you all.

I'm off tomorrow to visit my grandad with my mum (he lives 200 miles away, she has kindly said she will drive) so don't think I'll be able to post, but see you all on the June thread. Very excited!

    Hi all

Hoping to squeeze in SFD number 15 today. I'm currently house bound waiting for a parcel so can't leave even if I wanted to.

I may take a trip to Mr A later as I'm organising a hen do and they currently have offers on lots of the little items I need. Luckily all of this has been pre paid for by hen do ladies so its not my money being spent.

Feeling really guilty today as yesterday I bought two cushions. I really love them but don't need them (who needs cushions!) and they might actually be quite impractical to keep clean due to the dogs. My budget is really tight this month due to Father's Day but all my socialising is in this week (half term) and then I am doing nothing for the rest of the month (except going to the gym). Shall I take them back?

Hope you are all enjoying a rain free day, even if the sun is not out!

Well done Magiccat-it's not easy starting new habits but you have and are sticking with it :T

I'm supposed to be going out to take my little man to play with my friends sons. It's all weather dependent really. Other than that, another day of laziness :D

Well not long till we hit june running, literally :D Well have a good day everyone, take care and keep whacking those numbers :T

:jGood Morning Tributes and a VERY happy Friday (payday) to you all... :j

I have started the day with a wondrous transfer of money to my travel account of £1300 having taken into account EVERYTHING that I could possibly need this month. Right down to the extra pennies I need at Boots, despite my points and taking into account what I can get at the local 99p store. Soap - that's what - just plain soap! :rotfl:

I don't really want to spoil the big reveal of my expenditure break down ( haha ) until June's challenge kicks off - but I am determined to not use my CC at all this month. :p:p:p.. which means what folks - PLANNING AHEAD!!!

It does seem like everything has come at once to be honest... animal bits and bobs, bike repairs ( I am assuming the breaks need done as they are squeaking ), make-up situation is dire, conditioner has run out and so on...

I do have £30 a week for food and will have to stock up on the expensive basics... hemp seeds (£6.99), grapeseed oil (£5) and frozen blueberries (£2.99) - it's a hard life I know but I have learned to make the best of lentil to compensate.... :rotfl:...... But this will be on Tuesday or Wednesday which is food shop day. I like being consistent. I don't have OCD but it's easier to plan if I know when and how long things have to last for....

Anyway enough boring talk.. I am off to read what you lot have been up to....

    Onwards and Upwards!!!
