Voting in NI

Forward thinking people in Northern Ireland are few and far bewteen.
Most people can't bring themselves to vote outside the traditional unionist/nationlist options
Sad really, as Single Transferable Vote allows them to take a risk first then vote for the block.
For myself I am interested in, social policy, the economy, education, the environment etc My views on the National question are of virtual disinterest and really how will it influence issues I am interested in. NI politics for me is mind numbingly boring, with all its Assembly speak about shared futures said with such insincerity. What is our energy policy, how are we going to create more secure employment ....................
It is hard work fighting an election especially for those in small parties or independents. I for one am glad to see such people give it a go. Unfortunately where I am there are none of them to vote for in the council elections. I have a fine selection of candidates who would be well to the right on most issues. Wonderful. Let me see who should I vote for Tebbit or Thatcher or Attila the Hun.
I think the results will be more of the same. Hopefully, here and there, a few new and more progressive faces appear.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0 -
Basil was on with Nolan last night.
Nolan asked if there was anything else coming out about the party in a few days a few weeks???? Basil said no. But I get the idea Nolan was hinting at the reasons on here behind the scenes and the women.:cool:0 -

It's frankly a disgrace to abuse one's power like that simply to get a "bit of fun".0 -
