I think I'll carry on with a pan and my stick blender.
Saying that I would love the Tefal jam maker and I'm sure many people would say £69.87 just to make some jam!!!Dum Spiro Spero0 -

Sorry Jane, but really what an absolute waste of money! Apparently all you have to do is chop your ingredients and the machine does the rest. 'The Rest' ?? What else is there except waiting for it to cook and then blending it -which is optional? Plus it aint big enough to make soup in the quantitiy I do. £138?? They're having a laugh. Pan and stick blender;)0 -

I received the new catalogue today and found a Martini Maker for £60. You put your ingredients in and it either shakes or stirs for 60 seconds to create the perfect Martini. All you need do is pour it into the glass.
Seriously - who the heck needs one of these?0 -
I love the jam maker because now that the children have flown, I can easily and with no fuss, make just 3 or 4 jars at a time. I used to have a massive maslin and all the paraphanalia and used to make dozens of jars, when I had big gluts of fruit. So hey, lets put it down to me ski-ing and to heck with it. I made plum jam today and have a neat place in a cupboard to store the machine so that it is very handy0

I used to have a Lakeland catalogue. I went through every catalogue buying things I really, really thought I needed...then I moved house, the catalogue didn't catch up with me and...I didn't miss it.
To be fair to Lakeland and myself, though, I think I'd maybe reached the "enough stuff" point in life by then, and I can't honestly think of anything I bought that was a total white elephant. I still use most of them regularly and they've lasted years and years.import this0 -

lol! I know but I am a gadget freak - however I won't be buying one as I make soup already in a big pan and then stick blend it. I agree with you about the jam maker too. I made three pots of bramble jam (with brambles from DD1's bf's garden today in less than 20 minutes and it only cost me the price of the jam sugar. I always use jam sugar though, although I know that some people don't rate it but I don't think it makes any difference to the taste. The jam is really lovel - I've never made it with brambles before.
I love going into lakeland but do think that some of the stuff is overpriced and most of it is unnecessary, although their egg glaze is really goodJane

I'm going to Lakeland in the morning......
The reason is that we need a cherry stoner as we have vast quantities of Damsons to process - jam and chutney. I'll probably get the jelly strainer kit as well as I have 2 trees of crab apples. The danger is what else will leap off the shelves and into my basket - be strong and then stronger!C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0
