I was bored and made a list from the latest catalogue of my "dream" products...what I would buy if money was no object....came to well over 1000 pounds...
Included icecream maker, new set of circulon pans, a new knife set, jam making equipment. Well a girl can dream and I cant even cook at the moment. Perhaps that why im lusting over it all!!!!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Couple of weeks ago, I went in for 'loaf tin liners' (great vfm by the way) and came out with a 'fat/meat juices' separator as well.

Had an 8yr old boy and a baby in a pram with me or else I would still be in there wandering around noseying at everything .

Incidentally, the assistant was so kind and helpful - she even gave my grandson a beautifully decorated fairy cake from a display as she could see he was positively :drool: over them!

I have bought loads from Lakeland over the years my best buy has to be the Banana Bag, it really does keep the Bananas like new for over three weeks.
The Fruit and Vegetable Cushion is very good, I have purchased the Potato, Onion & Mushroom Bags, Magic Non-stick Liner, Oven Gloves, Utensils and loads of stuff over the years. I wish I had a store near me.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.

PS I forgot to add that I also bought the Phillips Delizia ice cream maker (as sold by Lakeland) for a fiver from the charity shop. It gets a five star rating too.

My charity shop often has Lakeland gadgets still in the wrapping. I check constantly!

I buy all my Easiyo in bulk from Lakeland.. They have a good selection of flavours and it works out cheaper that way. I got my Easiyo flasks from Freecycle. Just asked and there they were the following day. I use them all the time.

  • Well I just don't know whether to splash out and buy good quality containers for our leftovers and the like, or buy good quality and hope they last. What do the rest of the OS bunch think?

I have found Tesco value containers very strong and dishwasher safe. I got three mediumish/small ones for about £1.39 I think.

  • We use our Actifry several times a week, mainly for potatoes but also for frozen stuff, making croutons/bagel chips, etc. But we bought ours at CostCo where it's cheaper.

When I was in England on holidays, as I reside in Northern Ireland, I visited a Lakeland store, as I always do, and I noticed they had a product recall advertisement displayed in the shop but I didn't see the product recall advertisement online. As I didn't remember the exact name of the products they were recalling when I came home from holidays I emailed them to find out which products were being recalled. They are recalling products 11110, 11111, 11112, 11113, 11114, 11115. When I emailed them I got the following response,

    Dear Mrs xxx

Many thanks for your email about the product recall of the My Kitchen nylon utensils.

Our products are extensively tested, however, in our most recent test it was found that a small trace of PAA (primary aromatic amine), was found in the manufacturing process, which fails to comply with the EU standards.

We are very confident from the information advice we have been given, that through normal every day use, there is not an issue and the risk posed is extremely low. However, this aside, Lakeland has made the decision to recall all of these products from sale with immediate effect.

Interestingly, this product is still considered perfectly acceptable in countries, such as the United States and I can't stress enough that the risk is extremely low. However small the risk, we believe that we should make our customers aware, which is why we have asked our customers to stop using the utensils.

The recall notice was put up in all our stores for our retail customers and we sent out letters to all our mail order customers who had ordered any of these utensils.

If you put item reference 11110 into the find a product box it'll bring the utensils up for you so you can see which you may have at home.

As always, if there's anything else we can help you with, please do let us know. You can email us at net.shop@lakeland.co.uk or call our customer services team on 015394 88100. We're available Monday to Sunday, 6.30am to 10pm and will be happy to help.

    Kind Regards

10092 and the long handled version also seems to have been recalled. As I have all of these products do you think I should use them or not?

Personally, if they're recalling them, I wouldn't use them. Lakeland have very good customer service, if you gave them a ring I'm sure they'd send you replacements or refund your money.

I emailed them and when they emailed me back they said they would post a cheque to me. Although they know which items I have they did not request photographic evidence or even a copy of my receipt.
