Is the Stirr, which is available in Lakeland, similar and does it do the same job?0 -
Oh dear. I was very wicked and went to Lakeland (the new one in Bicester - so easy to park, such nice ladies in there, groan) and came away with a jam maker (among other things, but that was the most £££££s) I really love making jam but my family won't eat the sort of quantities that I've made in the past - v wasteful, gets thrown away, so I like the sound of something that lets you make just a few jars very easily without filling the kitchen with steam, stickiness and cold saucers. The recipe book has an onion 'confit' which I love and wil make, but has anyone tried ordinary chutneys in theirs ? Any recipes gratefully received, please.
And re le saucier - I make white sauce iin it a lot, and have a choc mousse recipe which I've adapted and which is dead easy (I will post recipe if anyone interested) but it doesn't do HUGE quantities and I don't think would do rice pud, tho would do custard and is supposed to do hollandaise - which I seldom make. I love mine as you NEVER get lumps and you can get on with other things in the kitchen while it looks after itself. I think it is a luxury (it doesn't do anything you can't do with a non-stick pan and a wooden spoon) but I've had mine a long time so it owes me nothing and I find it very helpful !!0 -
Hi morganlefay,
The onion confit recipe is lovely! I have one jar left in the cupboard - it goes lovely hot with roast pork.
I found this recipe for chutney in the jam maker: (hope link works)

Oh hum, I love Lakeland stuff!
I'm still trying to decide on whether to get an EasiYo!
I've got a full set of LL pans which are brilliant; and loads of their little gadgets. The soft clip clothes pegs are brilliant for hanging the washing out!
Oh dear, I'll have to go and look at the website now!0 -
I was watching QVC the other night and they had loads of EasiYo stuff on, and I kept watching the woman making the stuff and was getting properly interested! Will have to visit Lakeland Windermere this weekend and get one!!
I have a proper jam pan and everything, I love it!! However, if the smaller jam machines had been around when I started making jam, I would have got one of those instead!0 -
I agree with Rockie, Easiyo very good if you eat lots of yog (and even if you don't as its v nice yog. BUT if there's a Julian Graves near you they sometimes have mad half-price sales, which is where I got my easiyo, it might be worth asking them if they expect one soon as it really will be half price then and even better !
Pink - will rummage about to find choc mousse recipe and post it as soon as I find it - it's dead easy and makes really good cm. :rotfl:0
