What do I make with curly Kale?

I would cook the kale by boiling till quite soft, drain and transfer to a large bowl. Then add a couple of dollops of olive oil (extra virgin works best though it is more expensive), the juice of a lemon and a crushed garlic clove. It is best to do all this whilst the kale is still warm so that the leaves absorb the flavour better. Give it a good stir and eat either instantly or cold later on with warm crusty bread. Beautiful!0

I read somewhere that Kale is one of the magic veg for good health and long life, I love it.
It is easy to grow and I'm going to put some in my new allottment. You can pick off leaves and leave the plant to come again.
I cook it like cabbage, but prefer it steamed to boiled.0 -

When cool enough to handle, squeeze water out of kale in handfuls and chop. Loosen the lumps of kale. Saute some garlic in olive oil, then add the kale. If the kale is still a bit too chewy, add a few tablespoons of veg stock, cover and let cook for a couple of minutes.
DH's favourite way is kale crisps. Cut ribs from kale, then spread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake at around 180C until crispy (doesn't take long... be sure not to let it burn).

Are you crisping the ribs or the leaves? (I'm hoping it's the ribs as I tend to cut them out and chuck them on the compost heap at the moment)0 -

Had a veg box delivered earlier - got it from abel & cole - free if you spend £15, anyway, I have got a huge bag of curly kale sat in my fridge now that I have absolutely no idea what to do with. I know my son won't touch it with a barge pole as its green, so there seems quite a lot for the two of us to get through - any ideas for recipes which could in turn would therefore be especially great, but any guidance at all greatly appreciated. Am desperately trying to stay on track with the food budget this month so really don't want to end up throwing it away. Thanks.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Kale is basically a cabbage.
My other half is Dutch and makes a great dish, which is basically boiling potatoes with it (about double weight of the kale) and the mashing it all together, with a little butter and s&p and adding bits of bacon (The cooking bacon packs are usually good value)
Its tasty served with smoked sausage.Mmmmm.....
In the Netherlands they call Kale "Peasants cabbage" so he was shocked to see how expensive it is here!

I steam mine finely chopped, with sliced eating apple and crushed juniper berry.
I'll add this to the existing curly kale thread so that you can see other suggestions
