Welcome Treacle toes :) What a great amount of calories body attack uses.

I have done my back exercises today and been to Aqua aerobics. Yesterday I got an email to say I have won a year's membership to the Pilates on demand website. Very excited as I am keen to see what difference pilates will make to my back and overall flexibility.

Still trying to eat healthily. I am trying to get a routine established and I am thinking of:

breakfast - a green smoothie with some seeds like hemp or chia and/or almond milk/cashew butter for protein.

Lunch: either homemade soup (I love making soups) or a salad depending on weather.

Dinner: a healthy cooked meal. Fish 3 times weekly and otherwise vegan or vegetarian.

snacks: cut of veggies & homemade humus or fruit or a pink smoothie. When I go back to work in August, I will have pink smoothie at the end of the pupil day. I still have loads to do then and my energy dips. It is my bad time for sugary snacks.

Any thoughts welcome as there is so much knowledge on here.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but on the Holland and Barrett website, they have a Polar FT4 heart rate watch, which also tracks calories burned, for £20.49, free delivery.

The cheapest elsewhere I can find is £45ish.

    Great reviews on amazon.

Also 10% off via Quidco. :D

Thank you :) How does it track calories? Do you have to input information?

You have to input your age height weight etc on set up, then you wear the chest strap during exercise to record your heart rate and then it calculates your calories burned from all this information.

Ladies (some of you could be gents, I don't know! :) ), I need to join in, please.

In precisely 40 days, I will be jetting off to Las Vegas, which I've booked as a surprise for OH's 40th. I've spent a lot of money on this trip and I don't want it ruined by me feeling self-conscious and annoyed with myself.

So. :D I reckon in that time I can shift at least half a stone. And to achieve this I have been doing the following things:

    - Counting calories daily with My Fitness Pal. I'm usually under without too much trouble, but I tend to be too high on carbs and sugar so I could work on that also.
    - I have started two of the 30 Day Challenges. I am on day 5 of the Ab & Squat Challenge, and I just finished day 1 of the Crunch challenge.

    Stuff I now must do:

    - Increase exercise amounts.
I have two dogs, but one of them is waiting for hip replacement surgery, bless him. So walking with him at the moment isn't too much of a workout. I also have a gym membership which costs £84 a month and I haven't been for weeks. Not very MSE. It is a joint membership for me and OH, and he goes nearly every single day so it's not a total waste, but still... :o So I must make use of it.

    - Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
I am addicted to Dr Pepper, and drink almost nothing else. :o I only ever drink the Zero version, which has about 1 calorie per 250ml, but even so, not very healthy at all.

My weigh in days are Mondays, so fingers crossed for a decent loss after this weekend. :)

£84 !!!! Are the cross trainers covered in gold!!!! I have an annual which works out less than a fiver a week. I am properly shocked, don't get me wrong I have a cracking deal which I'm absolutely delighted with but 84....
I do 9 sessions a week and get my money's worth big style, but for £84 you need to work hard..

That said .. good luck, welcome and let's get losing..

    Thanks both. :)

I know £84 is quite a lot, even for both of us, but around here you have the choice of 2 grim council run gyms with massive queues for all the machines, 2 really rough gyms full of scumbags leaning on machines with their hands down their pants and making derogatory comments to all the women, 1 where all the steroid-heads hang out, and 1 country club which is more expensive. And ours includes free personal training sessions, is open 6am to 10pm, and has great health and safety standards. :)

Well Done Aggypanthus  & welcome aboard Treacle Toes & Misty.

Really enjoyed Circuit last night, was in a bit of a crabby mood and it seemed to get it out of my system, im off for a flounder in the pool at 7am and hit the steam& sauna, should be able to get back before everyone is out of bed, I love them all dearly but find im craving a bit of alone time which has been a bit thin on the ground lately :o

I also have to tackle some housework, between work and the added gym time I have to find a better routine with that.

    Have a great day everyone
