My diet and fitness is going ok, despite me being busy with a fair few times eating out. I lost almost a kilo in just over a week! I'm not the lowest weight I've been in about a year! So yay!

    Well done! :T:T:T

Jiggle free 11 done plus 1x super intensive 5min tabata. Why do squats and lunges when you can do jump squats and jump lunges?! Why wait for the buzzer before starting when you can sneak in a few more reps by starting early?! Well sweaty!

    Morning everyone

HDK, just been reading your posts and you are truly inspirational. As for fitting it all in, for me several 30 minutes slots in my week really makes a difference. I get up early and run at 6am, I run when the kids are doing their sports practice and I try and cycle rather than use the car when I can. I dont work full time but I do have two part time jobs.

I cant exercise at home either, although it makes a lot of sense.

Right, need to get ready for work!

Can I ask dolly and HDK, how do you find the time and energy to exercise?

Today I woke at 6.20am and left for work at 7.30am. Got home at 4.30pm. Walked the dogs, have done a couple of hours work, made dinner and by then I was too tired to contemplate exercise. Am I not pushing myself hard enough?

I think I'm just getting stressed and tired, and frustrated at myself, and eating too many sugary, fatty, carby foods at the moment so I also feel sluggish and rather round around the middle.

I don't work full time and I also work from home as and when I want, so I can work all evening if I want there are no time constraints. I do have two children to fit in and my dog too but my routine is as follows:

    Mon - a.m, gym, p.m bike
    Tues - a.m bike
Wed a.m run and skip, p.m. bike
    Thurs a.m. gym
    Fri - rest
    Sat - p.m. bike
    Sun p.m. run

When I reach my target weight I will drop some of those sessions and change the gym sessions from cardio to weights. I can't do exercise dvd's at home either. When I worked full time before having children I used to do a class 4 nights a week, gym on Saturdays and a very long dog walk on Sundays (12-15 miles ish), I would also walk the dogs every evening before or after classses.

I take my hat off to people who work full time and have children and still find time to exercise.

One key thing for me during this weight loss process is finding an activity which I just cannot get enough of - cycling. I totally love it, I love the way it feels when going up a massive hill, I love going off road down some hellish looking, rocky and muddy slopes and the way it is changing my body is making me very happy. I love to run too, even though it is a killer on the hills, when I am on the flat I can totally switch off and just concentrate on my feet and my breathing.

Weigh in day for me and another 2lb off, I am very pleased as this is my week where it is a small loss but 2 is good.

  • May I join please, as I'm trying to get thinner, but mainly fitter.

I rejoined the gym in January, but I've only just got into the right mindset of using it to achieve my goal of losing a stone.

This week I've done the gym on Tuesday and a body attack class on Wednesday, which I loved but usually I work on Wednesdays so it was a one off.

I had a rest day yesterday as my legs were still killing me, I hoped to go today but DD has had the sick bug during the night so we are having a sofa day instead. If she's feeling better tomorrow I'll either go to the gym or swimming, as there is a nursery attached to the gym that takes kids up to age 8 on a Saturday morning for an hour for free.

Like HDK, I'm using MyFitnessPal to monitor my diet. I hadn't thought about eating back the calories lost through exercise, which makes sense as I was starving during the evening I had done body attack - approx. 600 calories according to the body attack website which is almost half my allowed daily calories!

I've revisited my old 'Cook yourself thin' book over the past few days, so far we've had carbonara, lasagne (2 more portions in the freezer) and tonight I'm doing prawn, spring onion and basil risotto.

I'm on hols from work this week (usually work mon, tue, wed) so next week will be a test as I'm usually so tired when I get in.
