Gosh I want to join ~ but I feel a bit out of place because I do NO exercise (to be fair to myself I have been getting out for about 30-60min walks every 2-3 days with kids but thats only past 2 weeks or so.)
I'm just tipped over 13 Stone, I started my diet about 3 weeks ago and lost about 2lbs but then my birthday hit...(I asked for no chocolate but it all kept coming including my birthday cake my friend made for me) ...then easter hit and as both our kids are a bit young for chocolate we had about 10 easter eggs in the house no one was going to eat!! Luckily OH took more then half to work with him and gave out but I think I must of gobbled at least two down...
Need to get back on track now..I don't have much self control so the easiest option is just not to buy it and get OH to buy stuff I don't like...no more chocolate or crisps in the house now that I can eat
Need to lose this baby weight I've put on over 2 stone in past two years having two kids so close together..... I need a plan I just don't know where to start!! I'm rubbish with these things the only thing I know how to do is cut back and get out more...but eating healthy is another world as stupid as it sounds... -.-In_Debt_Bet wrote: »My scales seem to vary depending on whereabouts in the bathroom floor they are with the difference being as much as 4 lbs - I tend to weigh myself, move the scales a few times and just pick the lowest weight that comes up.
I do this but I generally go for the highest...my scales is beyond crap if you just simply lean forward you gain lose or gain 3-4 pounds...god help me if I move it around the floor!! :-)
I've decided to really go for this ~ not going to weigh myself until 28th May so a month from today just going to say my starting point is 13 S since my scales is so crap....will let you know how I get onPeople don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

I'm not exactly sure what I weigh but I'm pretty sure that it's the wrong side of 10 stone and I'm 5' 3" tall. My scales seem to vary depending on whereabouts in the bathroom floor they are with the difference being as much as 4 lbs - I tend to weigh myself, move the scales a few times and just pick the lowest weight that comes up. I have a daily struggle over what to wear and keep telling myself I need new clothes when the reality is that if I just lost some weight I'd have plenty of clothes as I could fit into anything in my wardrobe
I'm 47 in four months time so it's time to get serious , I need to do much more exercise than the 1 zumba class a week I currently do and look at my diet - need to up the fruit and veg intake and cut the fat sugar and salt, it sounds so easy, if only chocolate, cheese, bread, crisps and wine counted as one of my five a day I'd be laughing.
Goal for today - do some exercise.
Ahh so your the person who's been using my scales :rotfl: I am the same,I shuffle them round the bathroom to try and get an average. Luckily the batteries have gone on them now and I'm really considering just going by how my clothes fit rather than what the scales say.
So far today I've done nothing, great start!! I'm so tired honestly all I've done is wash the carEven if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -
Hi all,
I think I need to join in. Joining the money saving/debt busting threads has always kept me motivated, hopefully this thread will too.
A couple of years I ago I started a 6 month weight loss challenge with Hubby and we both did well but slowly the weight has crept back on, he goes through phases of being "healthy" but they never last long and I get tired of trying to motivate the both of us. It's hard enough to motivate myself sometimes!
I have a lot to lose, probably why I always give up because I lose heart after a while. Also a lot of my weight is in my chunky, tree trunk legs so I don't really see the weight loss when I do lose weight. You know, how some people lose it first off their waist or face and people notice or they drop a dress size quite quickly? Well I don't
I like want to save's idea of posting a daily food diary so will do that. Will also post any exercise I do (that should motivate me)
Oh, my bathroom scales alter from one spot to the next to - We use the Wi to weigh ourselves. My Hubby has had many an argument with the Wi Man:rotfl:(He may be related to Miss Sat Nav)

My scales are a bit temperamental too. I do seem to get a good reading in one spot in the bathroom and always do 3 checks, have any of you thought of checking them with a 1KG bag of flour or something?
I have been for my run - it was very hot and I wore a baseball cap to keep the sun out of my eyes, not something I would normally be seen in public in.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Kayalana99 - I don't do anything atm either, well occasionally a walk or consciously deciding to brave the stairs at work
As for setting more specific goals, Fmess, how about 14lbs in May (as I've a lot to lose) and see how I get on? Hope this is ok?
Food today a bit erratic due to work (and general poor planning) so have had 2 small bananas, and 2 shape yoghurts. Lf sausage and wedges for tea, with carrot/swede and cabbage.
Thanks for the support and hope everyone is having a good day themselves xDebt remaining:

Wow welcome everyone!
I'm so pleased I am not alone in my quest to get fitter and trimmer.
I thought I was the only one with temperamental scales! I have found a favourite spot on the bathroom floor and I try to put them there each time, but its in an awkward spot behind the door and I don't always judge it correctly for 'optimum' results :rotfl:
Speaking of scales I weighed myself this morning and they reckon that not only did I put on 3lbs last week, but I put on another 1lb yesterday! So that makes today's starting weight to be 10st 3lbs:mad:
I love all the food diaries and exercise routines. I'm going to pinch a few ideas and try and incorporate them :j
Today I have had;
- two slices of eggy bread (I would have scrambled egg but I can't stand it)
- a yoghurt
- halloumi salad and grapes
- one packet of light crisps
Tea will be roasted veg (low cal oil spray) and chicken breast
I have also walked the dogs for two miles and stood up from 6am until now, I'm told standing up burns more calories :rotfl:
Better go make tea, will be back for a catch up laterLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

That sounds like a good place to startWe've got 5 weeks until the end of May so that is about 3lbs a week, which is a lot, but I always find that I lose a lot in the first week or two as I adjust my diet considerably, so you might find the same.

Hmmm. Am I the only one who trusts her scales?!
I have eaten what I planned thus far - and it's the spot between 4 and 6pm that's usually my troublesome time.
I like people's food diaries. Think my intake may sound weird in comparison - dd certainly thinks I'm weird! - but I'll post it anyway...
Bfast: a mixture of cottage cheese, full fat greek style yoghurt, cinnamon, ground almonds and dried milk (sorry! Said it was weird!)
Lunch: own soup (pea and spinach today), 2 hardboiled eggs, courgette and hummous, 2 apples
Tea: bacon, red pesto and gnocchi (made by dh, so not complaining!) prob with cherry toms and rocket from veggie box. 'dessert' is usually cottage cheese and dried milk - and cream if we have some in)
Snacks: 2oz ish of almonds and brazils.
I'm aiming to turn my body into a lean, mean, fat-burning machine here! Instead of a carb-loving one. So I hereby confess that I will often sneak a slither or so of butter when making toast for dd, and frequently snack on cheese.
For me, if I keep off the processed carbs (ie all those except veggies) and munch on protein, veg and good fats, then I can do this. And the weight comes off the right place - my BUTT. Result.
I don't have a fixed goal for May yet, so maybe 5lbs...
Let's go for it and feel good in our skin! :TNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Well a good day for me with a 2lb loss at SW this week, I do find this time of year easier with food..as long as someone doesn't open a bottle of wine I plan to be designated driver for at least the next month I was in a rush this morning like most Mondays so skipped out on breakfast, this is something I have to watch with myself as I tend to then want to snack later in the day and usually fruit just doesn't cut it.
Bfast coffee
Lunch 1/2 egg & cress 1/2 cheese& onion sandwich pot of fruit (DH and I do a sandwich swap)
Dinner is mushroom omelette with red pepper salad & coleslaw
snacks Banana and maybe a highlight drink.
I find Mondays the easiest day for me as it's a busy day the mind doesn't turn to food as much by the evening to tired to worry about itit usually turns downhill from then on.
Hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine and had a good day.0
