Well done dolly, that's fantastic! Are you going to up your target for May?

Today has been a very good day apart from the Ben & Jerry's I just ate!

Breakfast - two slices of toast with low fat spread
Lunch - cheese and red onion chutney sandwich and yoghurt
    Snack - crisps and banana
Dinner - chicken and mange tout in honey and mustard sauce

Also did a 5km run after work :) it was tough but only walked for two minutes at about 3.5km. Hoping that helps with the Ben & Jerry's!

Looking forward to being able to enjoy the sunshine tomorrow :) Got an exercise class booked, then OH and I are going to walk to a local event and then dog walking when it cools down.

Oh by the way my scales have decided that I put on 5lbs overnight! They are so annoying!

I am not friends with my scales today - which is probably why I've not posted my weight!

However, we've only fallen out because they tell the truth about my inconsistency with eating over the last week. I don't have the fickle set of scales other shave. I know mine speak the truth, the whole truth and nowt but the truth!

Several of us at work have been chatting about eating and exercising. I'm thinking of issuing a challenge/competition! I mentioned sports day, and am considering asking the ladies (stuff the blokes) to join: give me your name (d'uh) and current weight ; on sports day give me your name and weight. The person who loses the biggest % of bodyweight is the winner. May ask for something like £2 to 'enter' and the winner gets 1/2, the rest going to charity... And if no-one else joins, then I win :rotfl:.

Would need to get that underway this weekend or mon at the latest, as sports day is July 4th.

Well done Dolly :j what's the new target then :D

Missus 1LB by 1LB is the way it went on and the way it come's off that's almost a 500g tub of butter

Im dead on my feet, circuit almost broke me, it's a right pain that im so stubborn at times although it was lovely to take it outside could have done without the 2x 2 mile runs..full on jelly legs after the weights workouts.
Easier weekend for me I have some garden work that has to be done tomorrow before some gravel gets delivered next week (that will be a huge workout logistic's dictates we have to barrow it from the front to the rear garden...all 10 tons)

Apple muncher that sounds like a great idea, I really hope some take you up on the idea.

That sounds like a good idea apple muncher. Last year our department did a running challenge. You got a sticker on a chart for each mile you ran during the summer term. It was really motivating as we're all quite competitive. I've just tried to reinitiate the group running but so far only one colleague has joined me. It's quite difficult as everyone had different running abilities and paces and several are training/have done half marathons, so don't want to run only a few miles.

Thanks for the congratulations guys. My aim is to lose 1/2 stone a month anything over that is a bonus and I won't slack off for the rest of the month if I get to that target early.

Fmess - your competition sounds fun. A friend of mine did a thing with her work when several people were trying to lose weight, they each paid £2 per week and got weighed and the one who lost the most got all the money, someone took some scales to work and they used those, I know for a fact that my competitive streak would make me want to do well.

We seem to have lost a few people from the start of the thread and I wondered if maybe we set a challenge at the beginning of each month that would help motivate people as not everyone can motivate themselves. Not sure how it would work though, what does everyone else think.

tori - I did something similar with gravel several years ago and it was hard work, lots of builders tea breaks will be in order I think.

Yeah I'm up for a challenge dolly, maybe at the start of each week everyone could declare what they will lose by the end of the week? Or we could have a collective total? I'm not sure there are enough of us but we could aim to lose a stone a week collectively?

Sounds like a great idea Dolly im up for a food/fitness challenge.
Not sure how use I would be for a collective weight loss as im almost at the end of my journey (this time round) and have the dreaded maintaining it, the bit i've never achieved for long :o

Not entirely sure about food today other than cooked wont be on offer :D
so should be healthy as worryingly there is no cake in the house  so unless im sleep eating it wasn't me that polished off all the goodies.

    Have a great day everybody
  • Did you know that the Government has given various councils money for their gyms so people can go free at certain times. Its called Get Active and you can get a free induction then 3 free sessions of gym and swimming per week. The sessions are off peak during the day and are at set times.
Its better than paying if your flexible with times. So ask at your local council gym if you are interested.

I like the idea of challenges. For me I think monthly ones would be best. If it's weekly weightloss, would those of you who are weightlosing divas have to also compensate for those of us who gain weight?! So if I gain 1lb, do the rest have to lose it for me?! :rotfl:

Monthly weightloss sounds good; or a fixed number of workouts; or a fixed number of 'perfect eating' days; no sugar days; no x days (set own x); or days of eating 10 fruit + veg. A bit like NSK and her NSDs, I guess.

I've sent the email to my female work colleagues. Let's see who joins in...
