    Well done dolly, very inspirational!!!!

How annoying caeraugirl, I am sure it will even itself out next week.

Day has been good so far. I did 15 minutes on the bike at the gym whilst waiting for my class, did a 45 minute bodycombat class and have walked the dogs for 40 minutes this afternoon :) Food has been

    Breakfast - porridge
Lunch - leek and potato soup
Snacks - chocolate (!) and a few nibbles from a nibble selection box

Dinner will be chicken and veg balti, no rice, but will have an mini onion bhaji or two.

Hope you've all had a lovely Saturday.

  • Thanks Fmess - hoping it will, but have made some less than diet-friendly choices at a BBQ this afternoon...... lol! May have a glass of wine this evening, but am so stuffed full of food think that'll be my lot for the evening. Keep trying to kid myself the 13 mile bike ride I did this morning will cancel it out, but apart from the fact I barely broke into a sweat (Bradley Wiggins has nothing to worry about!), I'm sure the stop halfway for coffee and toast didn't help either.

Sounds like you've had a productive day with exercise, and food seems well balanced (a bit of chocolate always good for mood if nothing else).

    Thanks guys.

It feels really great to just have a stone to lose now. I do dread to think how many calories I consume in a day but it seems to be working, for me not getting hung up on calories or food groups has been the key to shifting the weight and making it a lifestyle which I can easily maintain.

Me and DH did a family bike ride with the kids and then straight out for a proper bike ride after, we did a new route which was approximately 11 miles and we did it in 40 minutes, poor DH had a very nasty shock, I am much, much faster on a bike than him, I could see he found it hard to take, we did a race for the last mile and he just couldn't keep up. I was basking in the glory of it and didn't make it any easier for him:rotfl:.

Today me and DH will go running, he will be gunning for me today. He better be feeling fit because I feel indestructible.

My mojo may be back, but launching myself in with the 300 jump squats + 100 deadlifts on Friday has meant that I am still unable to walk today - Sunday! Going up - and down - the stairs is agony! I laugh at myself every time I sit down or get up!!

Fantastic Dolly :D im sure you just subconciously let your OH win Fmess ;)

Been more about the food than exercise this weekend unless major decluttering and shifting furniture is permissible exercise the slow cooker is working more than I am at the moment. unfortunately it's been producing a few puddings alongside any savoury dishes, Damn stodgy food why do you have to taste so good  life would be so much easier if lettuce tasted like treacle pudding.

I'd like to join too at this late stage.

A year ago was diagnosed with underactive thyroid, prescribed levothyoxin and it made me put on half a stone (I kid you not, was eating exact same amount!).

From this autumn have just rejoined gym and have so far done a few classes (spinning, aqua zumba, body combat, body balance) some of which I like some of which not.

Had 2 gym sessions on Saturday afternoons, machines, cross trainer and this Saturday did rowing, cross trainer, running machine and some various weights. The friend I was with said she thought i liked the running machine best (true). I also did the squashy ball where you lift your legs up! That was nice.

I love yoga so will do more of that.

I actually had a nasty vomiting virus about 2 weeks ago and lost half a stone (good?!) but have tried now to stick to healthier options.

Anyone got ideas for when you get PMT/PMS Hormonal carb style cravings?

Have been having rice cakes with houmous etc as healthier snacks and trying to eat fruit rather than cereal bars and no snacking at work

    Welcome MissD!

    You've been through the mill!

With exercise, I think the key is to fins what you enjoy. I love exercsiing at home, others love the gym classes.

Re food, I get much less PMT when i eat properly! No surprise there, then! Plenty of veggies, good fats, protein. And regular exercise makes a huge difference to me. Food-wise, it may be trial and error. Maybe give up all processed carbs for a week and see how it goes?

Can an underactive thyroid be 'boosted' by how you eat? My sister had an overactive one that required surgery, and said she wished it had been underactive so that she could then have done something about it with her diet.

    Good luck!

    Morning all

    Welcome MissD

Yesterday was not a perfect day food wise but compared to recent weeks, it was much better. No exercise due to pesky work taking up all my time (at work, then CPD training, then working at home all evening).

Today will be another good food day, planning on having:-

    Breakfast - porridge
    Snack - low fat crisps
Lunch - onion bhajis and salad bits
Dinner - fajitas but no wraps

Hope you all have a good day, the weather looks dismal again :(

    Welcome MissD.

It is chilly here, brrr, it makes getting changed into cold lycra very hard indeed.

Yesterday I went cycling first thing in the wind and very cold rain - boy am I tough? In the afternoon I did 45 minutes in the gym and there was a 45 minute dog walk too.

Today is my rest day apart from walking the dog.
