Am ending the month with a whimper. It is snotville here - sinuses, throat, head, and soooo weary. Exercise? Schmexercise! Surviving work is the priority. And not forgetting my lunch, like I did yesterday! Luckily I had 3 apples in my bag (!) and 2 small pots of mixed nuts, so they saw me through till I got home.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hope you feel better soon Apple Muncher.0

Oh dear applemuncher - hope it passes quickly. I take Ecchinachea, it is a prevention but is also good when a cold has you in its grip.
I ran on Sunday and it was great. I went to the woods near home, along with everyone else and his dog (literally) it was a lovely sunny afternoon and I could have run forever, I did 3 sets of uphill runs on some steps set into a steep slope, on the third set I took them two at a time - killer.
Yesterday I went to the gym and did some HIIT training on the rower and cross trainer - I did a 1:2 ratio for 14 minutes on each - 30 seconds flat out, 60 seconds rest, next week I will change the ratio to 1:1. I cycled in the evening up a big hill then a longer but not so steep hill.
Today is running and I think I will do the same route as Sunday.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Thank you for the well wishes. This has just come out of the blue to wipe me out! Even reading about running, gym, etc seems too much of an effort! Anyhow - don't work tomorrow and the only 'must do' thing is buy the circus tickets!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Poor applemuncher, hope you feel better soon. and Dolly, well done on all the exercise, you're making me feel a virtual sloth in comparison. How did you find the HIIT? I did a bike ride Sunday with a couple of friends but was a little too leisurely - we haven't seen each other for a few weeks so was more jaw exercise than leg, and at 13 miles it was a lot shorter than we usually do too.
Still, one good thing is one of them also desperate to lose weight so we have a mutual support group (of two!) set up, and her DH has even done us each a weight loss spreadsheet. Plan is to lose a stone apiece before Christmas, just over 1lb a week so do-able if I get my act in gear. With her as my weight loss buddy and this thread of kind and helpful people I hope I'm going to stay motivated this time!
I've been doing some weight training with dumbells for the last week, and need to get back out for runs (including hill training session, did one a couple of weeks ago and found it really hard, so must be doing some good) and cycles, with HIIT incorporated in at least one cycle a week too.
Big plans, I know, but feel I at least have a goal to head for now.#21 Save £12k in 2025 £12577.35/£20000

Sorry Credit-Crunched, just realised never replied to your other responses. I think this may be the way forward for me, with a bit of running thrown in to mix it up (because I love it when I'm fit enough).#21 Save £12k in 2025 £12577.35/£20000

Hi
I am still here!
Weighed myself yesterday and I was 14 st 0lb so that's another 1lb gone. 11lbs to lose by Xmas. I'm aiming to be 13.3 on 22/12.
I've curbed the worst excesses of my eating but I've still got to get into real get fit mode. We've done a fair bit of walking but it's not really going to move the fat! Need to gradually up the exercise and reduce the eating a bit more, slowly cutting down the carbs. I daren't do it quickly as last time I was really ill!
Well done to everybody. I'm hoping some of your impressive self-discipline regarding exercise will finally get me moving!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -

The HIIT was good, it seems easier to really go for it when it is for such a short burst. I think the recommendation is 3 times a week for this type of training. I also apply HIIT to my running and have since I got past 20 minutes continuous running, I do 30 second bursts as fast as I can with a really long stride.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Morning all.
Can't seem to get going this morning, would kill for a holiday but thats not happening any time soon, so best get a can of man-up and get on with it. Circuit training and insanity ticked off this week list with a kettlebell class for tonight.
How you feeling Apple muncher?
Food I don't want to even think about it will be a good choice day as i've yet to go shopping so nothing decadent in the house to start (good job too)
Have a great day everyone0 -
Morning all,
Get well soon AM, colds are horrible, and Fmess I hope your day is less work orientated and you get to the gym.
I had a good day yesterday. Stuck to my meal plan, except that I got busy at work and forgot about my banana that I brought in for a mid afternoon snack! So I had a HM Twinks hobnob instead! Oh and a Mr Kipling vienesse whirl for my pud post gym. Still was under for my calories, sugar and fat targets according to MFP, which I'm still going strong with
Also went to the gym yesterday evening, won't get there tonight unfortunately as having my hair cut at 7.30pm, but it needs doing!
Dolly I wish I had half as much energy as you!
B: Ready brek with 1 tbsp apple sauce and sprinkle of cinnamon
L: Spiced lentil soup with 1 slice wholemeal bread and scraping of flora light, muller 99kcal mint choclate dessertTBA
S: Banana, and maybe something else if I have enough calories left after dinner
Yesterday I had LO Monday night roast for dinner, and it was yummy!
Have a good day all0
