So how did it go, indecisiv?
I had a little run in my new shoes this morning....very autumnal! Snow fell on the tops at the weekend so trying to sqeeze in more hikes while the passes are open...running can ramp up later.0 -

I got done what I wanted to do. But it was so windy! I was struggling to walk in patches never mind run. Also I didn't tie my shoes tight enough so my feet apparently were sliding around a bit on the descents, so I have a blister on the underside of my heel on each foot
Sadly back at home now.
Yours sounds like tough running conditions too!“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
No I hike where the snow is.....I cannot run for long enough to get to the snow at this time of year....it will come to me soon enough....I have only run in snow once as I come from Cornwall....and only came here 18 months ago....and we had a mild winter. Today was pleasantly cool at 19 C.
We expect it to get hot again later in the week.0 -
Running in snow is hard as you can't tell where the holes are!
My legs are suffering from stiffness today. Hammered an interval session last night. Gentle warm up then about 9 reps of 90secs hard 90 secs rest. But it did make a pretty graph to look at.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
So how was everyone's running this weekend? I am now able to get out three times this week, short and slow....it's great just to be able to run....and so good for my mind!
Also a couple of hikes and back to the gym
Really must not rush it this time. At my age, every injury takes longer and longer to mend.0 -

Glad its all coming together again for you. Yeah take it easy.
I've still got blisters but going to have a mostly gentle week as i have a 10k race on Sunday.
I did a gentle 8.5 miles around malham in the yorkshire dales on Friday afternoon, then did the yorkshire 3 peaks challenge on the Sat as a hike (25 miles, 3 mountains, in under 12 hrs) and completed it in 9hrs 22mins.
Sunday decided to do not much after the 3 hr drive home I cabbaged on the sofa but speed training tonight.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
Well after a disastrous 10k race on Sunday I fear that going out with a 6 min mile is not the way to get a PB lol. Mile 3 I was struggling and had to put in a gentle mile or 2 at nearly 8 min miles to recover before getting back down to under 7 min miles to finish the last couple of miles.
My heart rate never dropped below about 175 for the entire race lol.
I really must learn to set off slower.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
hi all...do you mind if I join please ? :cheesy:
Just by way of introduction i'm a 48 year old fella. about 6'2" tall and 16 stone....
I have been into exercising for many years albeit off and on...like many others it took a back seat when I got married and had the kids but it started to get a bit more serious last year There is a history of diabetes in my family so I started to take exercise and healthy eating a little more seriously.
I started a local park run in October of last year and almost a year on my best time is now 24:11.
I did a local 10K in July and did 49 mins odd but the route is mostly all down hill:rotfl:
I have increased the weekly miles and now am doing about 20-25 per week.
I have also entered my first half marathon which is this coming Sunday. Can't believe it has come round so quick...
Its the severn bridge half so it should be quite scenic. Ideally I'm looking for around 2 hours..But really i'm just hoping to finish as its my first one.
cheers all and good luck with what ever running you are doing0 -
Hi Scott! Hoi other runners!
Short break in Warsaw and managed two morning runs in the parks....really great.
Then there was dancing and too much food and vodka!0 -

Sounds like me, I started running in October with a 24:23 at parkrun.
I like the sound of this downhill 10k. I did a flat one at the weekend and struggled, so downhill def seems the way to go :rotfl:
Good luck with the running.
@TiredTrophy dancing counts as exercise too and vodka looks like water (which is good for you) :A :T“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0
