Morning all, hope you're all well.

I've decided to set myself some goals before I hit 30 and running to raise money for charity is one of them. £3000 before 30 is an achievable target isn't it?

What I'd like to know is how long should it take me to run 1km? I struggle with KMs - more imperial really - but I'm not aiming for a 4 minute mile. Roger Bannister I am not lol.

Thanks all for any help you give :)

There is no, how fast should I run a km / mile. I have been running for about 4/5 months now and don't have a clue about what speed I run a km.

If you know what speed you are running in miles then just convert to km. ie. google for "mins per mile to mins per km"

    Hi all :)

Great to see a thread like this, I frequent other boards on the forum so glad I stumbled across this :)

I'm signing up to my first half marathon today. I was going to a couple of years ago but ended up putting it off and off and eventually missed the deadline for applications.

It's not until September so have plenty of time, I'm taking the plunge just now :)

Looking forward to talking to you all :)

Good luck with your training. I've run a few gentle half marathons in training but never at any serious pace.

I'm debating what to enter next.
I don't really enjoy road running so thinking of some sort of cross country or fell run.

Roll on summer where we can get out in the countryside on an evening and run.

Hi, folks, lets get this thread 'doin'!

Today I managed 3.5km in 25 minutes..I only stopped to cross the road.
I love running on the tracks in the forest but then I am even slower!. ..Imagine large sweaty space hopper....

Tracks are so much better than roads, nicer scenery and no having to stop.

I have bitten the bullet and joined a local running club. Speed training last night, wow can I feel that in the legs today. The heart rate and speed graphs look like I was on a heart machine.

Enjoy the running, it gets easier, I've now lost about 3-4 stone since I started running in October :T BMI is now officially healthy :)

1/3rd Marathon smashed today. During the course of the run I set new 5k and 10k PB's.
Time to recover then enter some more races :)

I had a very similar injury.

It just took time for mine to heal. You may need a bit of patience.

When it's time a good physio program will help get the upper body back up to speed.

    Good luck :)
