It was really good to hear from you Claire. I'm realy sorry you have not been well (((hugs)))
Don't go back to work to early or you will make yourself worse. If you are bored do as you mentioned do the money makover and browse through all the boards and find ways of reducing your outgoings and making some extra pennies.

Postie! Long time no speak!! How are you?? How are things???
Well yes I suppose I shouldn't rush back to work to end up having more time off it's just that I'm so BORRRRRRRRRRRRRED I'm driving myself mad!!
Well operation SSC has started. I rang up Npower to change over to DD's a while ago and I've just rung them to check on the progress and I've got to call back on 4th August to give a meter reading for my gas (electric reading given today) then they will swap me over. Once I've changed over I can then look on Moneysupermarket etc for a better deal than what I'm getting now. I've swapped suppliers so much in the past couple of years but last time the company told me that Npower would owe me some money as they thought my meter was set to high (I pay £90 a month on a meter for electricity and gas - I only have a 1 bedroom flat!) So I asked Npower about this and they said that I probably am owed something and that they will send me out a statement in the next 2 weeks with a cheque, although they couldn't confirm right now how much it would be for. I need to chase up another old supplier that I was with for a year but I cant remember who they were, scottish power I think???? Ill try and find them and give them a call, nothing to lose have I!
Next - the Virgin media bill - currently at £39.50 a month for 10mg broadband which I am going to reduce to 2mg and the XL tv package which I am going to reduce to medium (I've checked online and I watchSometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
Hi Claire sounds like you are doing a great job in getting things sorted.
Are you in a contract with Virgin? If not why not see what sort of package you can get with Sky.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Hi Tiger!
I'm not in a contract with Virgin but when we moved in here we found out that there is no BT line which I think you need to have Sky Broadband?? Hence the reason I ended up with Virgin. I've just called them and they have reduced them straight away to £22 a month - saving £17.50 a month! They've already made the swap - I can see channels are missing that I used to get - but I can't see any difference whatsoever with the speed of my computer. What a waste all those months I've been paying all that money for!
Right - next I need to try and find somewhere to get a folding bike from - I can start cycling to work and reduce my petrol costs that way!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
Ah! I see yes phone lines are needed for Sky but sounds like you have a good deal.
Try Freecycle and Ebay for a folding bike.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
I just rang sky and they said I would need an active BT phone line for my internet which I don't have. Does anyone know how much their TV packages are? That way I could possibly have virgin phoneline and sky tv. I don't know if it would be worth doing, depends on how much I would save.Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0
