I saw people at my OR's office getting discharged at 6/7 months, but mine didn't happen till 10.
And there was no reason in my case to delay. It's just luck of the draw. Well, luck of the examiner and where you end up in the pile.
You see couples who go BR together with virtualy identical files get discharged at different times, or one gets discharge early while the other doesn't.
I was pleased to get ED, but the relief from the stress and a bad situation means that if it went the 12 months, then so what?
The important thing is to have a great new start, and it sounds like you are doing that.

Hi Claire,
Pleased to see things are starting to come together for you.
I think you'll find that even for the lucky ones who get E.D they still seem to place more importance on the 12month landmark; not that I'd know, we had to wait the full year.
Sounds as though you've got things organised for Christmas so Seasons Greeting to you.:xmassmile
Book a holiday; now that's a damned fine idea.:D

I've just collected my payslip and I've had an extra £150. I've rung the OR's office (didn't email as I never seem to get a response), and they have said that I can keep the money as it is what I should have been earning anyway (it's arrears back dated to April) YIPPPPEEEEEEE!! :T :T
I've also asked them about early discharge (I couldn't resist :rotfl:) and the woman I spoke to said that I have been marked as suitable for early discharge, and that they would be sending me the paperwork (the questionnaire) to complete very shortly!!
So all in all very good day and it's only 940am!
I'M VERY VERY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!
Merry Christmas (again!)

:T :T wow even Ors get the christmas spirit.
Great news Claire, though i have got to rub it in that i've already received my papers for ED at 3 months and 30 days after BR:p thats as long as they don't find out about the swiss bank account and the villa in Barbados before hand:rolleyes:
Glad you happy, things are coming together nicely for you.:jThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -

First post of the year! Happy new year to everyone!
Don't even know why I'm posting here really, I've not got anything important to say. I keep trawling the insolvency services website looking for my early discharge hehe, I'm going to be as addicted to that site as I am to this one if I don't stop myself soon
Was having a think about this thread the other day, when I started it I thought I would be posting here a lot, I thought the OR would be in touch weekly asking things about my bank statements, credit card bills etc, checking what certain transactions were for. Nothing of the sort so far, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there won't be now.
Ooooooh I can't believe that Christmas/New year is over already and now I feel like there's nothing to look forward to. I hate this time of yearthe anniversary of my moms death is looming as well as her birthday, all the lights and festivities are over. Feels like there's nothing to look forward to now.

Glad you're doing OK Claire.
That was a useful post though because it shows newbies who are worried it's not a problem really. That the creditor phonecalls are not replaced by the OR phoning all the time.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Yes I thought that was important to point out, and the same goes for letters to, Since I pay all of my bills by direct debit, and leccy/gas is on a meter, I don't get many letters anymore either and it's nice to know that when I do it's not going to be a letter that sends my head into a spin and stresses me.Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0

I've still not heard anything from the OR about ED unfortunately. I want to ring them to ask but I know I shouldnt really, don't really think it's the done thing is it! I keep checking every day on the insolvency service website to see if I've been discharged but nothing.
Well hopefully 5 weeks today I will be preparing to jump on a plane! I say hopefull because we still haven't booked anything yet, we're holding out till the last minute to see if we can get a cheap last minute deal.
I've been enjoying getting home this week knowing that my front door isn't going to be wedged shut from the weight of credit card/loan statements from the postman (not that I used to borrow money from the postman...you know what I mean!). I got in the other day and there were 5 letters, one was for my car insurance, one for a hospital appointment and the other 3 were junk mail. It was so nice and made a huge difference to last year.
I even managed the other week to go and buy a new fridge in CASH! Which pleased me no end. I've been saving for about 6 months (and praying that my old one wouldn't give up before then on me) and found a fab fridge freezer for £200 in a local store reduced from £400! It's nice knowing I managed to pay for it myself. Next thing I really need is a new bed, I'm going to save as much as I can because I want to buy a decent one.
It's funny how my priorities have changed over the past few months to, I used to spend a lot of money on going out (drinking to forget my problems most likely) but now I'm just as happy to stay in and watch some TV, spend some time on the computer or clearing out a cupboard even!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -

YAY! I've booked my holiday today
me and OH are going to Tunisia, Hammamet, for 7 days at the beginning of Feb.
I can't WAIT!
I've had to borrow the money from my (good old) dad as I needed to pay by debit card and there isn't (ever) enough cash in my bank to pay or a hol so he paid for it on his debit card and I will give him the money back, most of which I have already and will have the rest at the end of the month.
Hope the OR doesn't try to contact me while I'm away!!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0
