Thats a good idea wdiag. I'm just worried that they ll either take to much! or not enough and I'll end up owing some which is a situation I definitely DEFINITELY do not want to be in.
He's told me to contact him with news of my payrise so instead of contacting him by telephone, as I had planned to, I will write a letter instead. Probably best to because you have a record of it then don't you!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -

I received another letter from the OR yesterday which included a copy of the agreement I had signed and sent back to them to say that I agree to pay my tax to them (this had been signed by the OR) and a letter stating that someone from a different company would be in touch with me shortly to discuss payment of the money and that these people are authorised to act on behalf of the OR.
I haven't received my payslip this month, its gone walkabout! So I still don't know if my tax code has been changed yet or not.
Some other (good!) news is that I have a job interview Monday! It's working at the same place I work now but better money (about 3 grand a year more, which would be LUVVVVERLY!). But it got me wondering, if I get a better paid job then I'm going to have to pay towards an IPA so I'm not going to be any better off!! I'm not bothered though, I'm still going for it, I can't hold my career back just so that I don't have to pay towards an IPA.
Wish me luck guys! And keep your fingers crossed on Monday at 3pm for me!! XSometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -

You won't lose all of the payrise, Claire, as the OR only takes a proportion of your surplus income, so you will be financially better off just not as much as you would have been without the IPA to pay. :jYou can have a look at the table on this link to get an idea of what you'd be paying after deductions. You've got a good attitude towards your debt - your career is going to last far longer than your IPA, & once that's over, you'll be able to feel the benefit of the extra income because you'll have much more money coming in than you did before you went BR, so you'll be able to save a bit more as well as enjoy life a bit more too.
Good luck with the job interview. Remember, the OR isn't on the interview panel & neither are your creditors, so don't let money worries or anything else stand in your way.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Good luck Claire, and as Neko says, what a great attitude, that alone will get you the job!
Your really moving on after Br and thats so good to hear! The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -

I have had another letter today from the OR saying that they have no interest in "my" property, I should think not the local council who I rent it from woouldn't be very happy would they!!??! This has been stamped at the court I attended for BR and a copy sent to the council as my landlord.
Also, I've just been on Tesco website doing a big shop for the month, got to the end to find they don't accept Visa Electron!! I thought a big store like that would have!! Looks like a trudge to the supermarket for me tomorrow, can think of a million other things I'd rather be doing.

It's an absolute bloomin' pain isn't it. I used to have a solo card with Halifax and they excepted that fine. Then Halifax changed to Electron and whammy! I was scuppered. Even selecting the Visa option doesn't work and it does with most.I've rung Tesco and asked why and they say it's because they sell alcohol and 16 year old can have a card, which is a load of tosh as far as I'm concerned. Asda and Sainsburys accept it if you have those deliver in your area.
I've also found Travel Lodge/Inn's and National Rail Enquiry/ Train Stations don't take 'em. Might have to invest in one of those pre-paid credit card jobby's.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Tesco won't deliver to us as we were a business address before the place was converted to houseing, and that's what's still on Tesco's database. Just means we get Sainsbury's to deliver (or not with the pathetic amount we spend on stuff at the moment lol), or go to Sainsburys in person - if you go to Tesco in person though it does mean you can get goodie bags from the Pharmacy counter (they've got two at the moment, one for children and one for little uns, but they have faby stuff in them so well worth getting even if you don't have kids and are free free free you just have to ask (and hope they haven't all gone lol). So look on the bright side - forcing you to get exercise and getting free stuffDo not feed the trolls please.0

Its been very informative reading this, as I'll be going through this soon, thanks very much for posting.
One thing that interests me is why do you have to pay the Tax yourself? Is this standard procedure for BR, or did you owe money to the IR?0
