  • I must say I have a wee smile about money these days too. When I started this I was really struggling to make my minimums but now I can do that no bother and even overpay. I havent got more money coming in or anything I have just shuffled and got better deals. I am also much more savvy and hardly ever spend unless I need to. We still have treats but I am no longer part of the s*d it gang I only do it if I have the cash. I sound like a total MSE swot lol but it makes life so much easier when you are in control of your money instead of vice versa.x

  • This is a wee change for me getting on here during the daytime. I am sat here waiting on a plumber. He will be here between 12 and 6 but I always get really stressed waiting on workmen as I have been let down so often in the past and it drives me spare when I waste a day off waiting on them. So feeling slightly stressed at the mo as no-one has appeared yet:eek: . DD is off of school due to tonsilitis.

I called the insurance company today re the estimate I got for my kitchen and I need it broken down into the part they will pay for and the part I need to pay for. Apparently I dont have a policy that will replace all my worktops even though if I only replace the broken one they wont match  . The annoying thing is that I have about £150 in my account I dont need and will manage to scrape together another hundred or so before the end of the month but I will now have to keep it to pay this bill instead of it coming off of my debt  . Isn't life a !!!!! sometimes. I still have to buy flooring as well. Oh well no doubt I will be delighted with the room when it is done. x

  •   Well the plumber turned up at 6:45pm . Why the f*ck did I have to be here between 8am and 6pm. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo furious and sooooooooooooooo sick of Scottish Power I cant tell you how much. I am really really considering cancelling all my cover I am so peed off. Thankfully all fine now and washing machine is on already. Even 1 day off of washing in this house results in mega catch up for me.

No spend today as I didnt leave the bloody house  :D (indecisive if I am happy or mad about that). Looks like kitchen worktops are going to cost me a few hundred as well ,as insurance company are arguing the toss about paying for it. I need a 4m length of worktop as I have a really big kitchen and it has to be ordered so is a bit more expensive. They have taken a fortune off of me in the past. Oh I am fed up with the whole damn lot of them.

I am having a right teenage strop tonight. DD and DS will be sending me to bed for my behaviour soon. Going to go and see if I can win anything in the comps to cheer me up.

Sounds like youve had a bad time with the insurance company today!! Well today i had an interview for a perm job so hopefully i will hear about that soon and i was asked back to the palce i was temping at before christmas as they are short staffed again. So i will have some money coming in soon!!!!
Also my cousin had her little wee baby last night at 10.05pm a little girl called grace weighng 6lb 3, we were all convinced she would be about 9 - 10 lbs as my poor cousin was huge and she turns out to be a little thing!! So i went to the disney store and got her a few teddies in the sale.
Now i am trying to think of something i can do at the weekend that doesnt involve much money. Any ideas people??

Am I just being sceptical in thinking that insurance companies main aim is to get ridiculous amounts of cash off you, then do everything in their power not to give you any back:mad:

Realised that I didn't have as much in my ISA last year as I thought I did, so I don't need to put as much in to fill this year's quota as I anticipated. Good news is my target is £600 less than I worked out - which is more achieveable, bad news is that means I'll have less in my ISA. Mind you, the amount I've got in there it's not exactly as if I'm getting huge amounts in interest:p .

Think this will be it on the laptop for me tonight. Started with a cold this morning and now everything hurts. Can't get comfy so might just give in and zone out. x
